An integrated amusement playground project funded by the Government of Australia and developed by Nha Trang University Youth Union has just been put into use at Cam Tan Primary School, Cam Tan Commune, Cam Lam District, Khanh Hoa Province, providing kids with fun physical activities that keep them active and healthy.

At break time, hundreds of kids at Cam Tan Primary School rush out to the playground where they can have great fun with their friends among various outdoor toys such as swings, slides, rockers, etc. Instead of playing blind man's buff, shooting glass marbles skipping rope, etc, they can have more fun game toys to play with.

There are so many kids so some have to wait for their turns. Tran Quynh Ngan, Class 4A4, says, “The outdoor games are so interesting. I play here right after class.” Nguyen Ngoc Anh Duong, class 3A1 is so excited that he can also come there to play in his free time because his house is near the school.

Many new outdoor toys bring great fun and excitement to pupils at Cam Tan Primary School.

“The kids are so happy to have so many outdoor game toys to play with. We are very delighted. The physical activity playground helps the kids to have more fun after class,” says Dinh Ngoc Mai, Principal of Cam Tan Primary School.

Over the past years, Nha Trang University Youth Union has developed many physical activity playground projects in Khanh Hoa. This is the second one funded more than VND100 million by Australian Direct Aid Program (DAP). The first one was developed at Khanh Hoa-Jeju Primary School in 2015.

The physical activity playground project includes physical activity structures such as balancing bridges, slides, rope-ladders, mountain-climbing, ziplines and so on. The project is the university’s effort to promote the community development assistance.

The university Youth Union in cooperation with the University Department of External Cooperation has sought for more assistance from sponsors to help reduce financial burden with the community development projects. In the time to come, the university Youth Union will continue developing the projects in other disadvantaged communities, contributing to making a difference, helping to bring great pleasure to more and more kids in need, according to Nguyen The Han, Secretary of Nha Trang University Youth Union.
