A sea turtle was released into the wild on April 17 by representatives of Van Ninh District Fisheries Resources Station, Van Hung Border Station and a fisherman named Nguyen Kia in Tan Duc Dong Village, Van Luong Commune, Van Ninh District.
Earlier, on April 13, while fishing on Van Phong Bay near aquaculture farms, Nguyen Kia found a sea turtle caught in his net. The turtle is 10kg heavy with an 70cm-long and 40cm-wide carapace. After spending some time in human care, the turtle has been returned sound and safe to the local authorities to be released to the wild.
