Khanh Hoa Tax Department has just conducted a survey on taxpayers' demand for tax assistance in an effort to improve tax assistance services.

Nguyen Van Thang, Head of the Tax Assistance & Propaganda Office,  Khanh Hoa Tax Department says the survey has shown that most of tax payers have some troubles with tax payment (frequently: 17,5%; occasionally: 82%) and they need assistance by phone (47.37%), in writing (24.46%), in person at tax agencies, through training workshops or dialogues. Besides, some like to get assistance via teamviewer, e-mail or social networks such as zalo and facebook.

Remarkably, most of tax payers want to be informed of tax policies via email (67.31%), documents (18.85%), via the portal of the Tax Department and social networks (2.69%). Most of the tax payers highly appreciate the effectiveness of facebook as a tool for tax information sharing and communication while many like to receive information about new tax policies, payment schedules, bill, etc via email. Most of tax payers like to attend workshops on new tax polices and yearly tax finalization. 63% of surveyed tax-payers like general training workshops and the rest expect to have training, designed for each group of tax-payers based on business type, business size, tax type, etc.

Most taxpayers (78.78%), including businesses in hotels, tourism, construction, trade and production; non-business administrative units, real estate trading enterprises; commercial banks, enterprises in industrial parks, natural resource tax payers, etc are in need of regular dialogues with tax authorities. It is also suggested that the Internet connection and access to the online tax payment should be improved.

Khanh Hoa Tax Department has given answers to questions raised by enterprises at training workshops on tax policies. However, the Tax Department should also take note all taxpayers' inquiries put forward at the training sessions, then reply in writing and via email to businesses for further reference to facilitate the implementation of tax obligations, says Nguyen Thi Thanh Dung, Accountant of the Sustainable Seafood Company.

The survey provides a base for the Tax Department and its divisions to build a program on tax propaganda and assistance. Tax agencies will also take suggestions on new tax counseling and assistance services into consideration for implementation in appropriate circumstances; arrange sufficient qualified consultants and continue providing tax information to taxpayers in writing and via social networks, according to Nguyen Van Thang.

Khanh Hoa Department of Taxation will continue focusing on supervision, especially during the reception and settlement of administrative procedures for taxpayers. Tax information and polices will be frequently updated on the websites or email, at training workshops, etc. Tax declaration and tax debt management will be improved. Proposals will be made to the General Department of Taxation to increase the Internet connection speed, timely update new tax polices in tax declaration support softwares (HTKK, iHTKK ...) to facilitate e-tax services.
