Summer vacation is approaching. Hoang Thi Thu, Phuong Sai Ward, Nha Trang City plans to register for a martial arts class for her son at Khanh Hoa Children's House. “My son and many of his friends like to join this class. I think, it is good for them,” she says. Nguyen Thi Anh, van Gia Town, Van Ninh District adds, “My child is in grade 5. He can’t swim so I will register for a swimming class for him at Van Ninh District Children's House. Learning swimming in summer is great fun, an excellent way to stay healthy and get the vital life skill."
Children’s Houses in Khanh Hoa are getting ready with summer courses which are going to open soon to fit the needs of children and their parents. This summer, Khanh Hoa Children’s House expects to welcome some 3,500 -4,000 children. Nguyen Phuong Doanh, Director of Khanh Hoa Children’s House says there are 4 courses, including a summer course every year at Khanh Hoa Children’s House.

The summer course running between June and September attracts the most learners, up 40 - 50% compared with normal courses ranging from 1,500 to 2,000 learners. Many attend physical and sporting classes such as martial arts, drawing, dancing, aerobics, etc. This year, Khanh Hoa Children’s House will open an Aikido class. Especially, a life skill class draws a large number of participants. The summer course is expected to open in early June.
10 classes for martial arts, dancing, singing, playing musical instruments, handwriting and so on will open at Van Ninh District Children’s House. Nguyen Huu Tuan, Director of Van Ninh District Children’s House says the summer course notice has been posted at schools and localities. The number of learners in summer courses often increases 5 times compared with those in normal courses.
Summer classes are now open for registration at Dien Khanh Children’s House. To facilitate pupils in far places, Dien Khanh Children’s House has cooperated with Dien Phuoc Primary School, Dien Phuoc Commune to open 10 paid classes and clubs and 3 free clubs at Dien Phuoc Primary School. There are 16 classes and clubs available at Dien Khanh Children’s House to provide a great place for kids to learn and play in summer, says Tran Hanh Huy, Director of Dien Khanh Children’s House.
Nha Trang City Youth Union is going to open swimming classes in June for children in Khanh Hoa in an effort to enhance drowning prevention and assure the safety of children, according to Nguyen Chi Anh, Secretary of Nha Trang City Youth Union.
