Summer is the peak time for tourism. Therefore, Nha Trang City authorities have carried out plans to assure traffic safety for travelers, including candidates taking the 2018 national high school graduation exam.
During the exam days, traffic will be heavier than usual with many candidates together with their parents. The local authorities have made plans to cooperate with exam schools to improve security and facilitate travel. Reportedly, Nha Trang City has 9 exam locations, each with a team of traffic police and flying squad to assure traffic order and security.
Nha Trang City traffic police will cooperate with other crew and organizations to focus on assuring traffic safety during the exam days with patrols at traffic junctions, coach stations, railway stations and exam locations to distribute traffic flow to prevent traffic congestion. In addition, the crew will be in charge of traffic flow distribution and parking arrangement on main streets leading to exam schools.

“Local authorities have propagandized to raise public awareness of traffic safety and security for the smooth running of the exam. Besides, we will enhance inspection with punishment over road space encroachment to facilitate travel at the exam locations, according to Lieutenant-Colonel Nguyen Sy Hong, Chief of Nha Trang City Traffic Division.
Specifically, a concentrated inspection campaign is scheduled to take place on June 5 to September 5, taking measures to deal with violations of parking, loading, driving in wrong or forbidden lanes; violations based on the condition or status of vehicles, etc. Especially, the traffic police will cooperate with other officials to prevent illegal racing and speeding, especially among teenagers on main streets.
Some teenagers have been found violating traffic rules, speeding, reckless driving, overloading, mostly during late afternoon and evening. Some even skate on the streets, wear earphones while going on the streets. After sea-bathing, many kids carried on motorbikes have been found without helmets on Tran Phu and Pham Van Dong Streets, etc.
