Youth Unions of schools, universities and colleges in Khanh Hoa Province are ready for the summer campaign 2018 scheduled to be launched next month.
Nha Trang University Youth Union will concentrate this year’s green summer campaign in Van Son Village, Cam Phuoc Tay Commune, Cam Lam District with the repair of the community house, fixing the roof, installing fans and lights, repairing doors and painting.
Nguyen The Han, Secretary of Nha Trang University Youth Union says the event aims to make the community house able to serve its function as a place for local social activities. Besides, the Youth Union will plant more trees, install stone benches and some outdoor toys; build a football field and a volleyball court. The activity is expected at more than VND120 million.

The 2018 Green Summer Campaign is expected to take place on July 1-30 with the guideline “creativity, practicality, effectiveness and safety”. Khanh Hoa Students’ Association has categorized the activities into 6 main contents, namely participating in new rural construction, environmental protection, the construction and repair of rural roads, canals, lighting systems; renovate and build playgrounds for children and community houses; clean water supply; getting involved in solving social security issues.
Nguyen Van Quyet, Chairman of the Students’ Association of the College of Technology says the Students’ Association of the College of Technology has chosen Suoi Tien Commune, Dien Khanh District to launch the Green Summer Campaign with the participation of some 40 students. The activities will include building places for physical exercise and amusement, planting trees, tidying up Suoi Tien Primary School, growing vegetables in school gardens, repairing Suoi Tien Nursery School classroom ceilings. In addition, the Students’ Association of the College of Technology is working with Dien Khanh District Youth Union and Khanh Hoa Medical College Youth Union to do some other constructions.
30 young volunteers of the Pacific Ocean University Youth Union are also ready for the 2018 Green Summer Campaign launched in Suoi Cat Commune, Cam Lam District. This year, Pacific Ocean University Youth Union has held many charity activities such as getting involved in child and teen education, building amusement playgrounds at Suoi Cat Primary School.
Reportedly, 7 schools with some 400 student volunteers will join this year’s green summer campaign. 100% of the school students’ association will organize volunteer activities towards the borders, sea and islands; and have models or projects applying professional knowledge into the new rural construction, agriculture, forestry and fishery industries. At least 2 amusement places for children will be repaired or built in Khanh Hoa, etc.
“We have synthesized specific plans of all schools and then conducted surveys at the communities where the summer campaign activities will take place. The 2018 green summer campaign is approaching. I hope the campaign of the students’ association at all levels will contribute to providing support for disadvantaged communities to improve the lives of local residents, creating practical constructions to meet the local needs," says Truong Tan Hung, Standing Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa Students’ Association.
