Khanh Hoa Steering Board for Blood Donation held a ceremony on June 14 to honor voluntary blood donors in 2018. Present at the event were Nguyen Tan Tuan, Permanent Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council; and Dao Cong Thien, Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee.
Certificates of merit were awarded to 2 families by the Prime Minister; 25 families, to 16 groups and 56 individuals by Khanh Hoa People’s Committee; and to 166 groups and individuals by Khanh Hoa Steering Board for Blood Donation.

From June 14, 2017 to June 14, 2018, 102 blood donation drives were held with the participation of nearly 20,000 people, donating over 18,600 units of blood. In the first 5 months of 2018, 8,200 units of blood were collected. Blood donors accounted for 1.5% of the population, repeated donation 63% and the use of donated blood reached 99%. Speaking at the ceremony, Dao Cong Thien requested for blood donation propaganda boost together with beneficiaries polices for voluntary blood donors.
