Khanh Hoa General Hospital and Vietnam - USA Biomedical Institute held the conference “Application of Next-Generation Sequencing and Genomics in Cancer Precision Medicine and Screening” and a ceremony to open Vietnam - USA Biomedical Institute based in Nha Trang City on July 2. Present at the events was Nguyen Dac Tai, Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee.


Nearly 400 experts, doctors and nurses at home and abroad attended the conference where they discussed cancer screening and treatment; the media with the issue of cancer screening, application of next-generation sequencing, advanced technologies of next-generation sequencing in cancer treatment; application of molecular biology in clinical oncology from theory and practice at the Hospital of Oncology. Besides, updated knowledge about cancer screening, treatment and research in genomics in the new era, application of gene technology in clinical practice for cancer treatment and development of new therapies; cancer gene therapies, etc.

On this occasion, Khanh Hoa General Hospital, Vietnam - USA Biomedical Institute and Khanh Hoa Aquilaria Company, Nha Trang City signed a cooperation agreement on application of next-generation sequencing and genomics in cancer diagnosis and treatment.


Reportedly, Vietnam - USA Biomedical Institute provides advanced genomics testing services for improving the efficacy of cancer treatment and screening transferred by the MD Anderson Cancer Center. The insights from the genomics report offer important information about cancer cells and germline mutations to help determine the most optimal cancer treatment and prevention measures in Vietnam.
