Cam Lam District, Khanh Hoa Province is making good preparation for infrastructures and human resources to welcome the approaching new school year.
From the beginning of the year, Cam Lam District Division of Education & Training has allocated funding for some school constructions such as repairing the playground of A.Yersin Junior High School, Suoi Cat Commune; building a multifunctional house at Cam Hoa Primary School, repairing 5 classrooms and the playground of Lang Chai school location of Cam Phuoc Tay 1 Primary School; building a restroom for teachers at Khanh Hoa - Jeju Primary School; building 4 classrooms at Hoa Lan nursery School, Cam Hai Tay Commune. Besides, 21 school facilities damaged by the Storm Damrey have been repaired.
In summer, the District Division of Education & Training has cooperated with localities to organize 7 Vietnamese language classes for 159 ethnic minority pre-first-graders, 7 Vietnamese language classes for 139 five-year-old ethnic minority kids and 40 summer classes for ethnic minority students, helping minority children to be more confident in communication and active in learning in class.
There are 46 schools, including 15 nursery, 19 primary and 12 junior high schools. According to the leader of the District Division of Education & Training, there will be 5,700 nursery kids, 8,900 primary school children and 6,753 junior high school students in the 2018-2019 school year. The number of students increases by 2.1% compared with last school year.
The schools have prepared sufficient classrooms and teachers with 1,533 staff, basically meeting the demand. However, some nursery schools are still lacking teachers. Therefore, the Division of Education & Training has had teaching contracts to assure teaching quality from the beginning of the school year. Le Anh Bang, Deputy Chief of Cam Lam District Division of Education & Training says to assure teaching quality, the division has opened 15 professional development and job title training and development classes for 100% of nursery, primary and junior high school teachers. Besides, the division has also provided food safety knowledge as well as the plan for the start of the new school year in the district.
“Basically, the preparation for infrastructures for the start of the new school year has finished. There is a temporary solution to the shortage of nursery teachers. Schools will start on August 27 with the opening ceremony on September 5,” reports Le Anh Bang.
