In recent years, Youth Union organizations and students’ associations have helped provide playground equipment for disadvantaged schools to keep kids to be active and develop physical strength and flexibility.

Many outdoor play sets & playground equipment such as swings, slides, seesaws and rope ladders have just been installed at Suoi Tien Primary School, Dien Khanh District by the Youth Union and Students’ Association of the College of Technology in the green summer campaign.

Le Thi Thanh Hue, Principal of Suoi Tien Primary School says the outdoor play sets & playground equipment are sure to bring great fun, relaxation and excitement to kids after class. The play equipment is really helpful.

In Cam Phuoc Tay, Cam Lam District, Nha Trang University Youth Union is speeding up the installment of playground equipment for kids at Van Son Village Community House. Earlier, during this year’s green summer campaign, other playground equipment had been completed at Suoi Cat Primary School, Cam Lam District by the Youth Union of Pacific Ocean University, at Hoa Hong Nursery School, Khanh Vinh District by the Youth Union of Nha Trang National College of Pedagogy, etc.

In recent years, many kids in disadvantaged communities have benefited from active outdoor recess thanks to playground equipment installed by Youth Union organizations and students’ associations. The campaign to make good use of playgrounds was initiated by Nha Trang University in Vinh Thanh Commune, Nha Trang City in 2014. This model is learnt from the Action Center for City Development, a non-governmental organization under Vietnam Union of Science & Technology Associations (VUSTA).

Since then, Nha Trang University Youth Union has made 9 physical activity playgrounds for kids in several localities, namely Nha Trang City, Dien Khanh District, Cam Lam District, Khanh Son District, etc. The models are really meaningful and practical so it has been expanded to many other communities in Khanh Hoa Province. Dozens of such playgrounds have been built so far in Khanh Hoa Province, according to Nguyen The Han, Secretary of Nha Trang University Youth Union.

The physical activity playground has received supportive feedback from schools and localities. In the time to come, Khanh Hoa Youth Union will continue promoting this model to contribute to making a difference, helping to bring great pleasure to children in need, says Truong Tan Hung, Vice-Secretary of Khanh Hoa Youth Union.
