The charity program "Joining merciful hands" was held on September 28 by Khanh Hoa Steering Board of the Campaign “Each organization or individual cares for one humanitarian address”, calling for donation from agencies, businesses and benefactors to raise funds for the disadvantaged in Khanh Hoa.
 
Present at the event were Nguyen Tan Tuan, Permanent Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council, Head of the Steering Board of the Campaign; Nguyen Dac Tai, Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee; Tran Ngoc Thanh, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial Fatherland Front Committee together with leaders of local agencies, departments and localities. The program was sponsored by Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Company and televised live on KTV.

Under the campaign “Each organization or individual cares for one humanitarian address” launched by Vietnam Red Cross, Khanh Hoa Steering Board has made a plan to expand the event across the province. Khanh Hoa Red Cross has given guidance on responding to the campaign; cooperated closely with local agencies and departments to boost propaganda of the purpose and meaning of the campaign. A recent survey has shown more than 2,000 people in need of assistance. Besides, since 2017, the campaign has mobilized and connected organizations and individuals to help 1,241 cases with the total funding of nearly VND1 billion, Nguyen Tan Tuan affirmed, adding that, “There are still many other disadvantaged and unfortunate people in need of help. Therefore, I would like to call for the donations from agencies, departments, businesses, organizations and individuals inside and outside Khanh Hoa Province. The donations will be directly sent to those in need.” All support is required to be sent to Khanh Hoa Red Cross or the account No. 0050091830776 at Sacombank Nha Trang.           
    
The fund-raising program included a musical show titled  “Khanh Hoa welcomes a new day”, “the soul of Vietnam”, “Peasant”, “Nha Trang Bird Nest Island”, “Ponagar Cham”, “the Power of Humanity”, etc by Nha Trang Dream Theatre, Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Company. Besides, there were TV documentaries about charity activities of the campaign, a documentary about a 7-year-old Nguyen Dang My Nhu suffering from Leukemia in Cam Tan Commune, Cam Lam District, Khanh Hoa Province. Since 2014, her family has borrowed over VND100 million to pay for the out-of-pocket medical treatment. 
 
At the event, Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Company donated VND50 million to the family. Besides, the Steering Board of the Campaign donated grants worth VND1 million each to 10 disadvantaged families in Khanh Hoa. More than VND2.5 billion in total was donated by organizations, businesses and individuals.
 
Outstanding donors include Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Company: VND250 billion, VCN Investment Company: VND200 million; Vinpearl Joint Stock Company, Nha Trang Branch: VND200 million; Tam Huong Company: VND200 million, 89 Building Company: VND200 million, Khanh Hoa Finance Division: VND122.8 million, Khanh Hoa Communist Party agencies: VND104.4 million, Khanh Hoa Power Company: VND100 million, Khanh Hoa Lottery Company: VND100 million, Khanh Hoa Trade Union Delegation: VND70 million; Khanh Hoa Department of Education & Training: VND56 million, Vina Real Company: VND50 million, Sovico Khanh Hoa: VND50 million; Khanh Hoa Sanest Soft Drink Joint Stock Company: VND50 million, Khang Thai Vietnam Travel Company: VND50 million,  the Trade Union of Sacombank Nha Trang: VND30 million, etc.
