Khanh Hoa Customs Department in cooperation with Cam Ranh Port Company has just implemented an Automated System for Seaport Customs Management, helping to shorten the clearance time.
Benefiting enterprises
The Automated System for Seaport Customs Management helps reform and simplify the customs clearance procedures; and decrease paperwork. Accordingly, the customs authorities focus on checking and supervising high-risk cargos and enterprises. Cam Ranh Port has handled a large volume of imports and exports in the province. It is capable of handling ships of up to 50,000 tons. In 2018, the cargos cleared at the port are expected to reach 2.4 million tons, an increase of 47% compared to 2017. Due to increasing customs clearance work, the Automated System for Seaport Customs Management is necessary to shorten the clearance time, simplify the procedures, reduce paper work and save cost for export and import businesses.

Nghiem Manh Ha, Vice-Director of Trade & Exploitation Center, Cam Ranh Port Company says the customs clearance work used to involve the submission of all relevant documentations. Now, all the data will be entered and updated into the Automated System for Seaport Customs Management for the center to check and process online. The system helps facilitate the management of imports, exports and cargos in storage.
According to the leader of Khanh Hoa Customs Department, the Automated System for Seaport Customs Management saves much transaction time, enables more efficient customs clearance, enhances the publicity and transparency, simplifies clearance procedures and facilitates customs clearance.
Khanh Hoa Customs Department will continue applying the Automated System for Seaport Customs Management at seaports and warehouses in Khanh Hoa. The Automated System for Seaport Customs Management is expected to be applied at such enterprises as Van Phong Bonded Petroleum Terminal and Hyundai Vinashin Shipyard soon.
