Khanh Hoa Department of Natural Resources & Environment is coordinating with Khanh Hoa Youth Union to organize the 2018 contest "Climate change and the action of the youth”. The competition is designed to promote the roles and responsibilities of Youth Union members in participating in activities responding to climate change, disaster prevention and environmental protection, says Hoang Anh Hao, Head of Water, Hydrometeorology & Climate Change Office (Department of Natural Resources & Environment), a member of the Organizing Committee.
In addition, the competition is to raise their awareness, roles and responsibilities in responding to climate change, protecting the environment and exploiting natural resources rationally, effectively and sustainably; and thus mobilize a large number of volunteers to join the effort to create a profound social effect, call for the community to join hands to protect natural resources and the environment, respond to the climate change, etc. The competition is also considered as a step in the innovation process of propaganda activities.
The competition is open to all Youth Union members in Khanh Hoa Province. The entries include video clips or short films lasting for 3 - 10 minutes about climate change (no copy or imitation is allowed). Video clips must have clear titles, images and sound. It is possible to use sound and image effects, and materials that have been allowed publicly for use but have to identify the original sources. The Organizing Committee has the right to use the prize-winning entries in printing, exhibition, information propaganda and publicity on the media. The copyright still belongs to the authors.
There will be 15 team prizes, including 1 first, 2 second, 5 third and 7 consolation prizes, awarded to organizations or group of authors (at least 3 people) and 16 prizes for individuals (1 first, 2 second, 3 third and 10 consolation prizes).
The competition is open on November 10-20, 2018. The award presentation is scheduled to take place in December, 2018. The entries must be submitted on CD/DVDs sent in person or via mail to Khanh Hoa Youth Union’s Commission of Propaganda & Training at 6 Hoang Hoa Tham, Nha Trang City; email: bantuyengiao@tinhdoankhanhhoa.org.vn.
Authors’ full names, workplaces and contact telephones together with the name of the competition: 2018 competition ‘Climate change and the actions of the youth’ must be clearly written on the envelopes.
