The impact of Typhoon Toraji on November 25 has caused heavy rain, resulting in flooding in many places in Khanh Hoa Province. Thanks to the preparedness planning, the armed forces and military units have matched urgent emergency response needs with available resources to help local residents.
 
Early this morning, hundreds of military officials and soldiers in Khanh Hoa urgently used boats and combat vehicles to access areas cut off by landslide and floodwater in Nha Trang City and many districts in Khanh Hoa to help with the rescue and property protection.

Thanks to the preparedness planning, military forces are timely present to help with the local natural disaster response. Dozens of officials and soldiers jointly evacuated 34 families together with their properties to safe places; used sandbags to reduce flood water and landslide damage to protect homes.
 
Captain Ho Thanh Tung, Commander of Khanh Hoa Border Defense Force Headquarters says border defense stations in Nha Trang City, Cam Lam District and Cam Ranh City have been timely directed to cooperate with onsite forces to help locals in flooded areas to protect lives and properties.
 
In addition, 50 officials and soldiers of Naval Brigade 101 used 3 boats to Dong Ba Thin, Cam Nghia Ward, Cam Ranh City to evacuate 7 families with 30 members in rising flooded areas to temporary shelters, give danger warning in submerged sections to assure safety. 35 officials and soldiers were added to join the effort to help those affected by the typhoon in Cam Lam District.
 
More than 30 officials and soldiers have joined effort to protect Pham Quoc Viet’s house (located by the sewerage through the National Road 1) at collapse risk in the extensive flooding this morning, says Senior Lieutenant Colonel Bui Quang Thuyen, Vice- Commander of Naval Brigade 101.
 
From early this morning, the Air Defense Division 377 has also sent 100 officials and soldiers of the regiments 591, 274 to Cam Lam District and Cam Ranh City to help with the local flood emergency response, including evacuation, traffic flow distribution, temporary roadblock, home protection, etc.
 
Also this morning, Engineer Brigade 293 mobilized dozens of officials and soldiers to use boats to access places submerged in floodwater in Cam Ranh City and Cam Lam District to help local residents with the response effort.
 
Torrential rain is forecasted to continue today and the next few days. Therefore, military forces will maintain their presence and readiness, coordinating with local forces to minimize flood damages and ensure safety, according to Captain Ngo Quang Trung.
