Khanh Hoa Fire & Rescue Police Department is running a concentrated fire and explosion control campaign before, during and after the lunar New Year holiday 2019.
Nguyen Xuan Canh, Senior Lieutenant-Colonel, Head of PC07 says during the festive season, the demand for recreation and shopping has increased, posing high risks for fire and explosion in production units, businesses, markets, supermarkets, trade centers or populated areas.
Fire and explosion may happen during the holiday by accident or due to carelessness. Therefore, response plans are prepared to timely deal with any emergencies before, during and after the year-end holiday.
Accordingly, PC07 has taken measures to prevent and control fire disasters, assure the troops are always on standby; boost inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire fighting systems in Khanh Hoa, focusing in such places as markets, supermarkets, trade centers, high buildings, apartments, recreational centers and petrol businesses.
Besides, the department has also cooperated with local authorities, plants, businesses, airports, ports, industrial zones, industrial groups, residential zones, etc to enhance the effectiveness of fire prevention and control operation; assure the emergency preparedness and response to protect political and cultural events during the Tet; build fire fighting and rescue plans in high-risk places, including recreational centers.
Some big fire cases have been reported, causing serious property damage in 2018. Therefore, some measures have been taken to raise public fire safety awareness. Together with enhanced inspection with fines imposed on violators, the department has boosted the guidance given to local agencies, units and their leaders to evaluate the risk and take preventive measures to assure adequate or well-managed storage of goods; heating and electrical safety in their premises.
On this occasion, the department has also cooperated with Khanh Hoa Newspaper, Khanh Hoa Television & Radio to boost the propaganda on the fire control law and honor good deeds in fire control in residential areas, factories and companies.
