Effectiveness
According to the report of Khanh Hoa Department of Labor, War Invalids & Social Affairs, since 2016, Khanh Hoa Department of Labor, War Invalids & Social Affairs has cooperated with the Center for Law Support & Human Resource Development to provide consultancy and support for the construction of an occupational health and safety management system which includes health and safety policies, standards, and records; and involves incorporating health and safety activities into production and business processes in 53 enterprises.

Hyundai Vinashin, every year, invests in innovating machinery to assure labor safety and build an occupational health and safety management system, maintaining a safe and healthy working environment for more than 4,000 staff. Labor safety measures are taken; and safety clothes and tools are provided. Especially, many workshops and training courses are organized annually to raise workers’ awareness of labor safety. Besides, policies on insurance, periodical medical check-up and hazardous duty compensation are fully abided by. Shift meal quality has increased to nearly VND20,000/ person/ portion together with milk provision for workers.
Rapexco Dai Nam Company has also invested in building an occupational health and safety management system which has brought great benefits. So far, the company has established a division of safety, health care and sanitation network; and developed emergency response plans. Information and instructions about work equipment and machinery is made available to users to enable the safe use. The company every year, identifies hazards; assesses and controls risks in workplace. Nearly 2,000 workers are provided occupational safety training and periodic health examination.

Comprehensive legislation and the occupational health and safety management system have contributed to keeping the workplace safe and healthy. Propaganda has been promoted by local authorities. In 2018, 56,600 laborers have been provided hygiene and labor safety training; Inspection has been maintained to prevent occupational hazards and risks. Over VND65.5 billion has been spent on personal safety tools, medical examination, labor safety measures and hazardous duty compensation.
Local agencies and companies have better fulfilled regulations on providing medical examination for workers, improving machinery, keeping the working environment safe and healthy. Annually, the local authorities conduct routine labor safety inspections of local agencies and companies in Khanh Hoa Province.
The occupational health and safety management system is designed to accomplish the goal of keeping a safe and healthy workplace. The framework allows consistently identifying and controlling health and safety risks; helps achieve compliance with health and safety legislation, contributing to improving product quality; staffing, production and business efficiency.
