Over the past years, Khanh Hoa Military Headquarters’ Party Committee has successfully implemented the Resolution No. 49 of the Central Military Commission on strengthening and innovating the mass mobilization tasks of military forces in the new situation and the “Good mass mobilization” emulation campaign. The mass mobilization success has contributed to new rural construction boost and poverty alleviation in severely disadvantaged communities.
Over the past 5 years, armed forces in Khanh Hoa have implemented mass mobilization tasks in 4 severely disadvantaged communes through various practical models and activities. In the education support model, units in the provincial armed forces have donated televisions, sound equipment, cooking utensils and school uniform to primary and nursery schools in Khanh Phu Commune in Khanh Vinh District and Thanh Son Commune in Khanh Son District; helped build wells for schools in Ba Cum Nam Commune and Thanh Son Commune in Khanh Son District; provided aid for 2 disadvantaged orphans in Khanh Phu Commune to cover meals and tuition from nursery through high schools.
the livestock and crop diversification model over the past 5 years has included the cultivation of 12,000 yellow jackfruit trees, 4ha of green skin pomelos; donation of many watering pumps and hundreds of oxen and buffaloes to local residents; charity medical trips, gifts offered on national holidays with a total cost of over VND1 billion/ year and nearly 1,000 volunteer workdays of military staff and soldiers.
Through the charity activities, the armed forces have offered 10 saving books worth VND70 million to beneficiaries of social welfare, donated VND45 million to repair 2 houses in Ba Cum Nam Commune and Son Thai Commune; gave thousands of clothing sets and blankets to poor residents and provided free medical examination and medications worth VND60 million to 1,200 arrivals.
In addition, Khanh Hoa armed forces have mobilized individuals and organizations in Khanh Hoa to donate to the Fund for the Homeland Sea and Islands with more than VND2 billion collected so far to build houses for the poor, etc. Besides, Khanh Hoa armed forces’ important role in natural disaster control and rescue has been also promoted with thousands of military staff and soldiers mobilized to join rescue and recovery effort in the recent storms and flooding.
Moreover, every year, Khanh Hoa Military Headquarters hold trips to offer gifts, give medical check-up and medications to residents in Stung Streng, Cambodia, helping strengthen the friendly relationship between two provinces in particular and 2 countries in general.
The activities have contributed to maintaining and strengthening people's trust in the Party and the Government. The most important tasks include promoting the leadership role of the Party Committees at all levels in mass mobilization with basic and comprehensive innovation in thinking, responsibility, operation requirement and measures; effectively strengthening local grassroots mobilization, focusing in remote areas, islands and ethnic minorities communities, says Colonel Trinh Viet Thanh, Political Commissar of Khanh Hoa Military Headquarters.
