Government officials and civil servants will have 4 consecutive days off from December 29, 2018 to January 1, 2019 for the upcoming New Year Day 2019. Accordingly, the New Year Day falls on Tuesday. The following Saturday (January 5, 2019) will be a workday to make up for Monday taken as a day off.
Civil servants will have 9 consecutive days off, including Saturday, Sunday on the Tet Holiday from February 4 to February 8, 2019.
The Vietnam Reunification Day (April 30) and International Workers' Day (May 1) will be a 5-day holiday, including Saturday and Sunday. The National Day (September 2) will be a 3-day holiday, including Saturday and Sunday, from August 31 to September 2.
