Preferential loans from the program on clean water and environmental hygiene of the Bank for Social Policies have helped facilitate many households’ access to improved drinking water sources and sanitation facilities, contributing to improving the environmental hygiene and thus raising life quality. 
 
Water and sanitation loans
 
A resident named Quang Phi, Lang Nhot, Dien Tan Commune; Dien Khanh District got a loan from the program on clean water and environmental hygiene of Dien Khanh District Bank for Social Policies to invest in drilling a well for safe water and build proper sanitation facilities.

Nguyen Thi My Hanh, Khanh Vinh Town, gets a loan to build clean water facilities.
 
Located far from the clean water system, Nguyen Thi My Hanh, Quarter 1, Khanh Vinh Town got a VND12 million loan from Khanh Hoa District Bank for Social Policies to build piping to get water from Khanh Vinh Water Plant and construct a self-contained sanitation system.
 
 
Duong Thi Nhung, Quarter 6, Khanh Vinh Town, was offered a VND12 million loan from the Bank for Social Policies to build clean water and sanitation facilities. She has just asked for an additional VND8 million loan to repair a water filter system.
 
Huge capital source disbursement 
 
Nguyen Thi Ngoc Ly, Vice-Director of the transaction office at Khanh Vinh District Bank for Social Policies, the water and sanitation loans has helped make a difference, change the behavior and improve hygiene awareness of rural people, especially ethnic minority communities.  The loan limit has increased from VND10 million to VND20 million/ household and from VND6 million to VND10 million/ construction. The loan balance in Khanh Vinh has reached nearly VND22 billion. 
 
In 2018, water and sanitation finance, VND288 billion, has reached 21,955 households to build 37,323 clean water and sanitation facilities. Since the loan limit increase, nearly VND64.6 billion has been disbursed to 3,499 households. The debt collection has achieved nearly VND218 billion. Till December 17, the loan balance of the program in Khanh Hoa has reached more than VND790 billion with loans offered to 82,500 households. This program is reported to have the most balance and borrowers among on-going credit preferential programs in Khanh Hoa. The balance of all programs is over VND2,521 billion with 142,417 household loans.
 
The loans from the program on clean water and environmental hygiene has helped increase access to improved water and sanitation in rural areas, contributing to improving living environment for healthier life, meeting new rural construction standards and fulfilling the national strategies on clean water supply and environmental hygiene in rural areas, says Phan Phuoc Thao, Head of Credit & Capital Planning Office, Khanh Hoa Bank for Social Policies.
