International visitors and overseas Vietnamese gathered for the 2019 New Year celebration held by Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Fatherland Front Committee on January 25.
Present at the event were Le Duc Vinh, Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People’s Committee Chairman; Le Xuan Than, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Khanh Hoa Province, Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council; Tran Ngoc Thanh, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial Fatherland Front Committee together with members of Provincial People’s Committee and leaders of local agencies and departments.

Speaking at the meeting, Le Duc Vinh informed the guests about the provincial socio-economics. Accordingly, in 2018, although natural disasters caused great economic damage, the provincial socio-economics continued making advances thanks to the efforts and support of international organizations and individuals and overseas Vietnamese.
GRDP index increased by 7.02%, industrial production index up by 7.0%, the total social development investment up by 12.1%, total retail sales of tourism goods and service up by 12, 85%. The budget revenue reached over VND21,886 billion, a year-on-year rise of 8%.
The year 2019 is expected to bring both advantages and challenges and thus requires continued effort to effectively promote the local strength and potentials. Le Duc Vinh, on behalf of provincial leaders, wished foreign visitors and overseas Vietnamese good health, happiness and wealth in the New Year.
On this occasion, Provincial People’s Committee granted certificates of merit to 5 groups and 3 individuals for their great contribution to provincial socio-economic growth.
