The power consumption often increases sharply during the Lunar New Year holiday. Therefore, Khanh Hoa Power Company has taken measures to assure sufficient power supply during the peak period.
Do Thanh Son, Deputy CEO of Khanh Hoa Power Company says PC Khanh Hoa has made a power supply plan for Khanh Hoa Province under the guidance of Vietnam Power Corporation and the Central Power Corporation on assuring sufficient power supply during Tet.
PC Khanh Hoa has issued a document to require its affiliations to conduct technical checks of the grids, connection points, earthling leads, transmission equipment, etc before the peak time. On February 4-7 or from the last day of the year to the third day of the lunar year, no blackouts will occur, except for emergencies. Then, when possible, interruptions will be shortened and electricity supplies will be restored soon.
Besides, the power affiliations will assign staff to check grids to assure safe and uninterrupted supply for consumers and in places where political, cultural and art activities will take place; work with local authorities to know the location and time of the events to assure safe grid operation in normal conditions or under electrical fault and emergency conditions.
This year, all affiliations are equipped with mobile transformers to promptly respond to electrical fault or emergency conditions. PC Khanh Hoa has directed the Safety Office to make a plan to cooperate with local authorities at all levels, police and army to check; make and develop plans on safety, security; fire and explosion control at electricity constructions, public agencies, warehouses, etc; based on specific conditions, assure guards and young vanguard on 24/24 hour standby during the Tet holiday; inspect and boost labor safety, security, fire and explosion prevention and control.
During the Tet, the Safety Office is required to make workplace safety, security, fire and explosion prevention and control report for constant monitoring and immediate intervention.
Moreover, the units are required to closely supervise the working status of the main and additional power supply sources; prepare human resources and equipment to promptly detect and handle emergencies to ensure stable power supply for customers, especially important agencies of the Party, Government, national defense, radio, television, hospitals, water plants and venues where political, cultural and artistic activities are scheduled to take place to welcome the New Year.
In case of electrical fault or emergencies, on-duty units will coordinate to decide suitable operation and troubleshooting methods for the entire electrical system.
