The Prime Minister has decided to designate May 15-22 as the National Week for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control.
The week is designed to raise public awareness of responsibilities for disaster prevention and control and efforts to keep the society resilient to natural disasters for sustainable development.
The National Week for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control is required to be practical, effective, cost-saving and in conformity with the law.
The annual themes for the National Week is chosen by the Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention & Control. The ministries, departments, provincial People’s Committees and relevant agencies are asked to organize effective activities in response to the event.
