The nationwide blood donation drive known as Red Spring 2019 themed “Give blood. Save lives. Share love” kicked off at Ninh Hoa Town Children’s House on February 24. The event was held by Khanh Hoa Steering Board for Blood Donation together with Khanh Hoa Red Cross, Khanh Hoa Center for Blood Transfusion & Hematology and Ninh Hoa Town Steering Board for Blood Donation. Nguyen Tan Tuan, Permanent Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council together with more than 700 donors from the Red Cross of local agencies, wards and communes in Ninh Hoa attended the program.
Blood donation campaign in Ninh Hoa has gained satisfactory progress. Every year, Khanh Hoa receives nearly 20,000 units of safe blood, including over 2,000 units of safe blood from Ninh Hoa Town for medical treatment and emergency, especially during peak time for blood demand such as typhoon Damrey 2017 or Storm Usagi 2018.

After the kick-off ceremony, hundreds of volunteers registered for blood donation with over 300 units of blood expected to be given. On this occasion, Khanh Hoa Steering Board for Blood Donation honored and awarded 15 groups, families and individuals for their contribution to the blood donation in Ninh Hoa.
