Towards community's sake

Since early March, the Youth Union members and young people of Khanh Hoa Border Defense Force have implemented various practical activities for the community’s sake  in response to the Youth Month , contributing to strengthening the military-civilian relationship.

 

A new amusement playground at Tan Sinh Primary School, Cam Thanh Bac Commune, Cam Lam District has just been put into operation. The construction worth VND50 million financed and built by Khanh Hoa Border Defense Force’s Youth Union in association with Cam Lam District Youth Union was among social activities towards the community in the Youth Month.

 

 

 

Apart from motivating learning and promoting creativeness in fulfilling key political tasks, the Party Committee of Khanh Hoa Border Defense Force Headquarters has directed its Youth Union to develop social security programs for the community’s sake, encourage the youth’s engagement in such campaigns on coastal clean-up, social security, homeland border, sea and islands in the Youth Month. The Youth Union of Khanh Hoa Border Defense Force has built a Youth Month scheme themed “Khanh Hoa Border Defense Force Youth: active and creative in building and protecting the homeland"; volunteering for community’s sake, and improving care for the youth, according to Captain Nguyen Ngai Ha, a political commissar of Khanh Hoa Border Defense Force Headquarters.

 

Under the scheme, 15 Khanh Hoa Border Defense Force’s Youth Union affiliations have registered for the implementation of 15 youth constructions, including a herbal garden by Vinh Luong Border Defense Station’s Youth Union; a rockery and automatic irrigation system in the production area of Cam Hai Dong Border Defense Station’s Youth Union; a maneuvering program at the Squadron 19; a vegetable garden by the joint Youth Union of Nha Trang Port Border Gate, etc. The Youth Union models and movements have been effectively promoted to fight against smoking and violating law and regulations, "VND100 house", etc. Grassroots Youth Union organizations have participated in giving ideas and suggestions for the construction and expansion of youth models and programs.

 

In addition, Youth Union members and young people of Khanh Hoa Border Defense Force have frequently taken part in such campaigns as “Green Sunday” and “Voluntary Sunday” to join effort in clean-up, tree cultivation, etc. Besides, social activities have also been focused with free haircut for disadvantaged children, gifts offered to poor pupils; propaganda on clean water saving and protection; forest fire prevention and control; plastic bag use reduction, anti-epidemic prevention and control; traffic safety, etc. 

 

In order to further strengthen the solidarity between Youth Union members outside and inside military forces and thus better implement social movements and activities, since early March, Khanh Hoa Border Defense Force’s Youth Union has boosted exchange programs and twinning activities with 79 local Youth Union organizations, businesses and schools. 14 cultural exchange programs, grassroots Youth Union members’ Day; 4 football friendship tournaments; and 6 volleyball friendship tournaments with local Youth Union members.

 

Besides regular activities, the Youth Month is really a meaningful political event of great significance for Khanh Hoa Border Defense’s Youth Union, providing a chance for Youth Union members and young people to show their roles and responsibilities; and promote their creativity in striving to accomplish their assigned tasks, contributing to socio-economic development and volunteering for the sake of the community, confirms Nguyen Ngai Ha.
