The summer vacation is approaching. Nha Trang City Youth Union and Khanh Hoa Children’s House are developing plans on summer camps and skill education, helping children to have a happy and safe summer vacation.
Children’s camp “Traveling to know and learning to be” held by Nha Trang City Youth Union is expected to take place on July 18-20 at the 100-egg Tourist Site in Phuoc Dong Commune, Nha Trang City. About 100 children aged 10-15 will take part in the 3-day camp with many exciting activities.

In summer 2018, Nha Trang City Youth Union held the first 2-day summer camp, receiving many supportive comments from pupils and their parents. This year, the summer program scheduled to last longer, 3 days, focuses on helping children get practical and enjoyable experience. The campers will take part in various activities through team work; a forum on child violence and abuse prevention and control; effective use of social network; marital arts and family emotion, etc, says Nguyen Chi Anh, Secretary of Nha Trang City Youth Union.
Moreover, children will also experience a day making salt in Ninh Diem Commune, Ninh Hoa Town, playing on Doc Let Beach; sightseeing and burning incense at the monument of Uncle Ho in Phuoc Dong Commune.
Many children would like to take part in activities in the Army Semester but the program lasts for a long time. So the city Youth Union has made the camp time and activities more suitable and convenient for students. The fee is VND1.5 million/ camper. Currently, the registration for the camp is still available at the City Youth Union, according to Nguyen Chi Anh.
This year, Khanh Hoa Children’s House has organized various summer programs and courses for children. 3 classes are opened for 3 age groups: A class for 6 year-olds, B class for 7, 8; Class C for 9, 10. The classes are designed to provide children with practical experience that helps children know how to protect themselves against danger around; anticipate danger and risks and have solutions; develop group work skills; improve concentration ability with specialized games throughout summer life skill courses, etc. This is also the first year children have also benefited from day boarding to be able participate in afternoon activities at skill classes at the Children’s House.
In addition, there are more summer classes with a variety of types of summer programs to consider such as piano, traditional musical instruments and computer science for teenagers. The classes will continue to be open throughout the year at Khanh Hoa Children’s House. More skill classes and summer camps held by Nha Trang City Youth Union and Khanh Hoa Children’s House are expected to keep the summer break really rewarding and exciting.
