Road traffic control plan adjustment

Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee has just approved Nha Trang City to make a road traffic control plan adjustment till 2025, focusing on traffic control, management and urban transport.

 

In 2010, Khanh Hoa People’s Committee gave approval to the project on road traffic control and development till 2015 and vision by 2025. After 8 years of the implementation of the project, the sharp increase in travel service, accommodations, means of transport and individual vehicles due to the socio-economic growth, especially in tourism, have made the project inadaptable to the actuality and future planning.

 

 

Khanh Hoa People’s Committee has allowed Nha Trang City to make the traffic control adjustment plan.

 

Khanh Hoa People’s Committee has given approval to the supplementary plan of parking lots in 12 sites on Nguyen Tat Thanh in the 1/500 detailed planning of Khanh Hoa Fitness & Sport Zone (2.63ha), Binh Tan Warehouse (9,600m2) located in Vinh Nguyen Ward, Vinh Truong Ward; 170 Le Hong Phong (3,570m2); in Northern Hon Ong, Phuoc Dong (3ha), etc. None of the parking lots have been built so far. The pilot project on Nha Trang smart city, including smart traffic, needs to be updated in the traffic control plan, according to Nguyen Van Dan, Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Transportation.

 

To adapt to the actual situation, Khanh Hoa Department of Transportation has suggested Khanh Hoa People’s Committee would make an adjustment to the traffic project till 2025, focusing on traffic control, management and urban transportation.

 

Specifically, vehicles will be restricted on city center roads to create pedestrian space and prioritize the proper use of sidewalks and roadways; traffic flow distribution adjustment will be made on certain roads. Traffic signals, traffic circles, stations, parking lots, lanes, surveillance camera systems, traffic control centers, etc are included and taken into consideration in the urban traffic control and development plan.

 

The urban transport service of taxi, electric vehicles, coaches, etc will be rearranged in accordance with the public transport network planning. In the current period, the development of the road traffic depends on socio-economic growth, construction planning and traffic transportation. Traffic infrastructure construction projects in major sites in Nha Trang City are underway and completed. 

 

Khanh Hoa People’s Committee has allowed Nha Trang City to make the traffic control adjustment plan and use the local budget and other legal sources of funding for the plan; and assigned Khanh Hoa Department of Transportation to direct Nha Trang City People’s Committee to implement relevant contents, assess and submit the detailed plan to Khanh Hoa People’s Committee for approval.
