The renovation project on To Hap Town Waste Water Treatment Plant invested by Khanh Hoa Water Supply & Sewerage Company in Khanh Son District has been completed, helping to improve thousands of local residents’ access to clean water.
Local residents in To Hap Town used to suffer from the lack of clean water as the water supply was old and decrepit. Due to substandard quality water treatment, treated water did not meet the drinking water standard regulated by the Ministry of Health.
Khanh Hoa Water Supply & Sewerage Company has taken over To Hap Town water supply system under the decision by Khanh Hoa People’s Committee. The company has developed a renovation design project on To Hap Town Waste Water Treatment Plant with a total capital of some VND18 billion.
Sponsored by the province and local departments, the project has been given priority in terms of funding from preferential loans from the Provincial Development Investment Fund. “The project has been completed, ensuring the drinking water standard regulated by the Ministry of Health with stable water pressure to ensure 24-hour water supply, helping to facilitate the access to clean water in To Hap Town and neighboring areas, contributing to improving living conditions and minimizing waterborne diseases," says Nguyen Van Dam, Director General of Khanh Hoa Water Supply & Sewerage Company.
Much improvement has been made to the waste water treatment system, regarding pipes; treatment and supply facilities; reservoirs, etc. Specifically, Ta Luong Stream reservoir has been built of concrete with stainless steel welded mesh gabion of rubble stones. Its raw water intake system has been repaired with new screens and trash racks, etc. DN200 steel pipes have been repaired to take water to the treatment center together with 2 additional air and sludge treatment and disposal positions on the pipes.
At the waste water treatment plant, a raw water pump station has been rebuilt and 2 pump machines have been installed at a capacity of 85m3/hour each. The old slow filtering tank lines have been replaced with new ones meeting the advanced technology> A new filter tank has been added.
The continuous sand filter Dynasand DS5000 AD-HD consists of a cylindrical tank with steel filter internals of European standard; 2 filter tanks have been installed to reach the capacity of 1,600m3/ day; A 380m3 clean water container has been repaired, etc in an effort to bring clean water to more than 1,500 residents in To Hap Town, Ta Nia Village (Son Trung Commune) and part of Ba Cum Bac Commune. The good news about continuous access to sufficient, clean water at a cost of VND2,025/m3 really satisfies local residents. The waste water treatment plant has been upgraded, ensuring the water quality.
Khanh Hoa Water Supply & Sewerage Company has invested in the water supply system renovation in To Hap Town and neighboring areas, helping improve access to drinking water, contributing to meeting the development strategy of To Hap Town by 2025, according to Phan Van Suu, Vice-Chairman of Khanh Son District People’s Committee.
