Postal life insurance packages


Vietnam Post Office has made a strategy on diversifying postal products and expanding postal delivery services, focusing on payment services; life and non-life insurance, banking services, retail and public payment services for pension, social insurance, allowance; delivery of identity cards, driving licenses, patient records, return of suspended drivers' licenses after reinstatement, etc. Vietnam Post Office presently has 12,738 transaction locations. Khanh Hoa Post Office has 52 postal branches and 89 commune cultural postal locations. In 2016, Vietnam Post Office cooperated with Dai-ichi Life to provide 4 life insurances packages, reports Ung Thi Van, Vice-Director of Khanh Hoa Post Office.

These products connect saving services and life insurance. The packages have benefits with interest rates not less than commitment; simple application and process procedures; 100% benefit from the contract value when continuing with maturity; VND100,000 for hospital fee, flexible premium payment from the 5th year, advance of  insurance value; eligibility to get additional insurance products. In case of risk, clients will get insurance benefits within 30 days.

 

Tran Thi Viet, 64, in Hon Du Village, Khanh Nam Commune, Khanh Vinh District has purchased a life insurance package VND100 million/ person for her husband and child. Her husband fell sick and died after just 2 years of insurance payment. She has received a guaranteed return of VND100 million. "The medical insurance is beneficial with financial risk protection. Therefore, I have just also purchased an insurance package for my 7-year-old grand-daughter. I use my interest saving to pay a premium of VND7 million/ year for 15 years. It's great beneficial and convenient," she says.


Postal life insurance has also attracted much attention. Cao Dang, Khanh Nam Commune, Khanh Vinh District has just bought VND50 million postal life insurance. On July 20, at the workshop held by Khanh Hoa Post Office in cooperation with Dai-ichi Life with the participation of 65 clients, 43 insurance claims with a total turnover of VND265.5 million have been approved. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Ai, To 5, Khanh Vinh Town, Khanh Vinh District, has just registered to buy postal insurance. “Now residents in mountainous areas have become more concerned of their health and future of their families, besides daily expenses,” she says.

Local specialities posted on trading floors

Ung Thi Van says with the aim of meeting the need for quality service, besides providing life insurance products, the Post Office will provide some new services. In July, the Khanh Hoa Post Office in coordination with the Provincial Forest Protection & Development Fund will develop a plan to pay forest environmental services to individuals and households engaged in protect protection through the postal system and submit it to the provincial People's Committee for approval. Besides, local specialties will also be introduced and delivered on the e-commerce trading floor of Vietnam Post Office (Postmart). In particular, Khanh Hoa local products and specialties will be introduced and delivered to consumers nationwide through the postal system.


In late June, Khanh Hoa People’s Committee approved the cooperation of Khanh Hoa Post Office and local departments and agencies to introduce and deliver local specialties of Khanh Hoa under the OCOP on Postmart. Khanh Hoa People's Committee also requested departments, branches and localities to propagate and mobilize enterprises and business households to join Postmart through the provincial mass media.


At present, Khanh Hoa Post Office has built a plan to boost procedures to post products under OCOP on Postmart, access producers and providers of products under OCOP; verify identification information and signals of specific products registered for protection of intellectual property rights. In the third quarter, Khanh Hoa Post Office plans to introduce and post 40 products under OCOP program of 8 districts on Postmart.
