Over the past years, besides preferential policies for revolutionaries, the Party Committee at all levels and local authorities have actively mobilized businesses, organizations and individuals to donate to the Gratitude Fund to improve the life of social welfare beneficiaries with meritorious activities and services.
Hearts filled with warmth
After the National Reunification Day, Nguyen Van Vy, a 4/4 war invalid in Van Hung Commune, Van Ninh District returned to normal life with much financial difficulties. He could not afford the repair of his house which was built 30 years ago. Therefore, his family was granted more than VND40 million from the Gratitude Fund to rebuild his house. “The new house is such a valuable gift and encouragement to us to greater endeavor to overcome difficulties in life,” he says.
Besides preferential policies, local agencies and localities have actively called for donation to the Gratitude Fund with more than VND6.5 billion mobilized in Khanh Hoa in 2018 and over VND780 million in the first 6 months of 2019. The fund has been used to repair and rebuild nearly 200 houses for the needy; as well as offer gifts to revolutionaries on national holidays in an effort to assure the target that the living standards of war invalids, martyrs’ families and revolutionary contributors are equal to or higher the average level, reports the leader of Khanh Hoa Department of Labor, War Invalids & Social Affairs.
In addition, the local authorities and agencies have also mobilized businesses and organizations to take care of 26 Heroic Vietnamese Mothers for the rest of their life. The support has shown great reciprocation to the war invalids and martyrs. Apart from monthly grants, home visits have been paid to partly bring them encouragement and happiness.
Active contribution to Gratitude Fund
Every year in July, Khanh Hoa Party Committee Agencies launch a subscription ceremony to donate to the Gratitude Fund. Each staff donate one day of service a year to the fund with a total donation of more than VND100 million which will be used to offer gifts and grants to revolutionary contributors.
Nguyen Tan Tuan, Permanent Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council has appraised the donation of public servants of the Khanh Hoa Party Agencies to the fund over the past years. The donation has showed warm hearts as well as social responsibilities, contributing to improving the material and mental life of war invalids, martyrs’ families and revolutionary contributors.
Le Anh Vu, Director of Khanh Hoa Radio & Television says, “to contribute to the meritorious services, annually, Khanh Hoa Radio & Television calls for its staff’s contribution to the Gratitude Fund. The donation is worth more than VND42 million every year on average. Besides, we have urged businesses and benefactors to join effort to build houses for revolutionary contributors. More than VND1 billion from the charity fund is also donated to help the vulnerable and disadvantaged revolutionary contributors every year."
Moreover, besides local agencies and authorities’ meritorious services, businesses have also joined effort to provide support for social welfare beneficiaries.
