With 2019 Mid-Autumn Festival or Moon Festival just around the corner, fun games and activities with cool gifts are ready to assure disadvantaged children in Khanh Hoa Province to enjoy a warm and joyful season. 
 
Reaching out to disadvantaged children
 
As usual, Khanh Hoa Children’s House is going to celebrate the Moon Festival for more than 1,000 children from orphanages and social service organizations in Khanh Hoa Province on September 12 or the 14th day of August of lunar calendar. The children will have a chance to enjoy musical shows, unicorn dance and a fruit party and take part in many exciting games. The activities are expected to cost over VND300 million raised form benefactors and businesses. Besides, the musical group of Khanh Hoa Children’s House is also going to join the Moon Festival program with children in Khanh Vinh District, reports Nguyen Phuong Doanh, Director of Khanh Hoa Children’s House.

On this occasion, Khanh Hoa Youth Union and Comrade Association are going to celebrate the Moon Festival in the 2 mountainous districts of Khanh Son and Khanh Vinh on September 12 and 13. Khanh Hoa Comrade Association is seeking donations from benefactors and businesses to offer 5,000 gifts to primary school children in the two districts. The Comrade Association has also directed its affiliations to organize a Moon Festival activity for children, pay a visit and offer gifts to children in disadvantaged communities in remote mountainous, coastal and island areas to bring a hilarious festive season to kids, says Pham Ngoc Hai, Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa Comrade Association.
 
Together with local organizations and agencies, several charity groups and social organizations have also had plans to celebrate the Moon Festival for kids in disadvantaged areas. Accordingly, on September 7, the Group “Khatoco and Friends” is going to celebrate the Moon Festival in Lo Gia Village, Suoi Tien Commune, Dien Khanh District with various activities such as unicorn dance, lantern offer, circus, magic tricks and a candy party for 450 children. Vietnam Dream Charity Group is going to hold an outdoor activity themed “Seeking for the moon night” for kids in Suoi Tien Commune.
 
Ensuring enjoyable Moon Festival
 
To assure a safe and enjoyable Moon Festival for children, Khanh Hoa People’s Committee has directed Khanh Hoa Department of Health to build a joint plan to boost inspection and supervision over food safety as well as prevent the sale, transport and storage of violent and hazardous toys.
 
Khanh Hoa People’s Committee has had a document on the Moon Festival celebration and assigned Khanh Hoa Department of Labor, War Invalids & Social Affairs to preside over and cooperate with Khanh Hoa Youth Union and relevant agencies to organize educational, musical, cultural and art activities to teach children traditional values; allocate funding and seek donations from individuals and organizations to pay visits and offer gifts to kids, especially poor and vulnerable ones in ethnic minority communities, remote mountainous and island areas and places stricken by natural disaster-stricken places, etc. 
 
As usual, this year, Khanh Hoa Department of Labor, War Invalids & Social Affairs is going to jointly celebrate the provincial Moon Festival program for children in disadvantaged areas. The event is expected to take place on September 10 in Cam Phuoc Dong Commune, Cam Ranh City, where many ethnic minority children are living. The Department of Labor, War Invalids & Social Affairs has also conducted a survey and submitted the celebration program to Khanh Hoa People’s Committee for approval. Some 500-600 children are expected to take part in the program which features such activities as unicorn dance,  a Moon Festival party and gift offer, according to Vo Binh Tan, Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa Department of Labor, War Invalids & Social Affairs.
