Haly Hely Charity Group has just installed water filter facilities at several schools in disadvantaged communities to improve children and teachers' access to clean water.

Last week, teachers of Ninh Van Nursery School were so delighted to receive a water filter facility at the school which used to buy clean water from far away in the town and brought to the school. Recently, the school has installed a gravity water-supply system and Haly Hely provided the water filter facility to help improve water quality.

Principal Nguyen Thi Lang says the school has 130 students at 2 school locations. Water from the filter system is safely used for cooking and drinking. This is such a great encouragement for the school in the new school year.

This is the 4th water filter system provided by Haly Hely in disadvantaged communities. Pham Thanh Toan, Head of Haly Hely says the group provided a water filer system at an orphaned nursery school in Suoi Cat Commune, Cam Lam District in June, Huong Sen Nursery School, Giang Ly Commune, Khanh Vinh District in June and Vanh Khuyen Nursery School, Song Cau Commune, Khanh Vinh District in July. These constructions are in the clean water project for schools in an effort to ensure safe water for cooking and drinking.

Besides gifts and scholarships offered to kids this summer, the group has developed a clean water project to help schools get clean water as a long-term assistance. Funding has been raised by the group members from individuals and benefactors. The group will check and evaluate the operation effectiveness of the purification system when the new school year begins.

“We hope our support would reach more schools. For the purification system to be installed, water supply systems are required at schools. A survey will be conducted by the group and efficiency assessment will be made. In addition, we plan to help change the filter of the water purification system once a year to maintain it properly. We hope to be able to raise more fund to help more schools,” adds Pham Thanh Toan.
