In the 2019 – 2020 school year, e-school report service continues to be applied with the target to expand to all schools in the future.

Better management

In the 2017 – 2018 school year, the e-grade book software has been applied in all high schools in Khanh Hoa, contributing to improving management, reducing manual work and allowing users to get a clear insight into learners’ performance. Based on the achievements, in 2018 – 2019 school year, e-school report service continued to be in use for classes 6 and 10. This school year 2019 - 2020, e-school report service has expanded to classes 6, 7, 10, 11 across Khanh Hoa, including remote areas.

Nguyen Sinh Cung, Chief of High School Education & Regular Education Division, Khanh Hoa Department of Education & Training, says the e-school report is integrated into the e-grade book software. Principals will check e-grade books before an update into e-school reports to assure accuracy and meet schedules.

Paperwork reduction effort for teachers is being made.
The e-school report helps facilitate the contact between school leaders, teachers and students’ parents who can receive updated information about their children’s performance at school in a convenient way and decrease paperwork for teachers. At the end of each academic year, the school will give printed copies of school reports to parents whose children have finished education levels or move to other schools.

E-school report service applied for 1 year at Vo Thi Sau Junior High School has proved efficient and convenient for teachers and administrators, helping to reduce teachers’ paperwork and allow better grading management. The report is also conveniently sent to schools which students move to when needed, says Vo Thi Thu Huyen, Principal of Vo Thi Sau Junior High School, Nha Trang City.

 Paperwork reduction

In order to standardize data for school grade books and reports, Khanh Hoa Department of Education & Training has required schools to check and update students’ information to assure only 1 code is issued to 1 student on the system as well as protect information about teachers, students and their parents.

From the school year 2019 – 2020 onwards, e-school report service will be available in all high schools. Besides, based on the application of such softwares as SMAS and vnEdu, schools are expected to gradually use e-files and e-books adapting to actual circumstances.

Khanh Hoa Department of Education & Training has urged teachers to make personal files and records, including teaching programs, lesson plans, etc on computers (e-records), except for teachers’ personal handwritten grade books. School leaders are required to take measures to monitor and evaluate school reports to ensure sufficient documents for inspection when required; promulgate specific and feasible regulations and guidelines for teachers to make all necessary records and files. The use of e-records is considered as one of information technological application criteria in schools, according to Nguyen Sinh Cung.
