Under the Women start-up support project, period 2017 - 2025, the 2019 Women Start-Up Day is expected to be held by Khanh Hoa Women's Union on October 18-20 in order to provide opportunities for its members and women to show their start-up creative ideas and products; seek support, meet, connect, exchange and introduce products to the community, says Le Thi Mai Lien, Vice-Chairperson of Khanh Hoa Women's Union.

Women Start-Up Day will have 3 activities taking place simultaneously. The first activity is a traditional craft village fair themed “Khanh Hoa women – traditional and creative” at the Children’s Park on October 18-20 with about 20 booths showing products from traditional craft villages, 15 booths with start-up products from companies owned by women, 5 booths showcasing environmentally-friendly products; and 10 traditional food specialty booths in Khanh Hoa.

The second activity is the Women Start-up Day final scheduled to take place on the morning of October 19. 15 shortlists will present their start-up plans and give answers to the jury’s questions. The Consultancy Council will select and award 7 excellent start-up plans and products.

The third activity is a start-up exchange program for women expected to be held on the afternoon of October 19 convening female entrepreneurs, young entrepreneurs, finalists and guests. At the exchange program, representatives will discuss and share experience about advantages and disadvantages when starting up a business.

Compared with last year, the event has received more products and initiatives. The entries, mostly in an agricultural industry in 2018, have varied in sectors such as agriculture, fishing, service, etc. There are a variety of products, but not many of them have high quality. Most are on starting a business. Some contestants have mistaken traditional trade for business start-up ideas and products, so the union has guided them to make a change and resubmit their products or initiatives.

Khanh Hoa Women's Union has nearly completed the selection of high quality start-up ideas and products. The preliminary is expected to finish on September 30. This is the second time Women Start-Up Day has been held so the criteria for ideas and products are more stringent than the last time.

To be eligible for the event, products that have been launched on the market for 2 or 3 years must meet the standards for business certification and food safety licenses. Products available on the national market must have certificates of trademark registration. Start-up ideas must have clear and sustainable strategies. Khanh Hoa Women's Union is cooperating with relevant units to seek and connect typical products in Khanh Hoa to join the traditional craft village fair. Khanh Hoa Women's Union will boost the propaganda towards the Women Start-Up Day.
