The Women Start-Up Day 2019 held by Khanh Hoa Women's Union has provided opportunities for women to meet, share experience and show their start-up creative ideas and products, helping to stimulate women’s start-up innovation and creativity.
Green start-up ideas
All of the 7 ideas and products highly appreciated by Khanh Hoa Women's Union at the Women Start-Up Day event are green start-up ideas and products which are clean and safe for human health and the environment.
Specially, a clean daisy growing cooperative in Binh Trung Village, Van Binh Commune, Van Ninh District is a model of growing daisy on sand, using environmentally friendly organic fertilizers, improving fallow land and productivity. A mushroom cultivation collective of Ba Ngoi Ward Women’s Association, Cam Ranh City is working towards clean products, using paper as replacements for plastic in packaging.

4 individuals’ ideas are also very special and distinctive. They include artistic Emy clay flowers by Pham Thi Thanh Tra, Phuoc Hai Ward, Nha Trang City. Notably, the business has created jobs for people with disability. Natural cosmetics by Ha Thi Hai Yen, Vinh Hai Ward, Nha Trang City are a combination of modern medicine and traditional healing remedies.
The business of Vietnamese spring rolls with Greasyback shrimps without food additives by Nguyen Thi Thanh Dinh, Van Thang Commune, Van Ninh District has created jobs for many local women. Finished lotus products without food additives manually processed with safe and clean materials available in the locality by Truong Thi Ngoc Phuong, Ninh Da Ward, Ninh Hoa Town, are selling well, not enough to meet demand.
Mutual support needed
According to Khanh Hoa Women’s Union, the Women Start-Up Day 2019 received 58 initiatives and products. 15 initiatives and products which are creative, clean and safe for human health and the environment, using available materials, contributing to job creation were selected to the final.
At the exchange program “Khanh Hoa women start-up 2019”, many women shared experience in working and overcoming difficulties and challenges faced by start-up. Pham Thi Thanh Tra, the owner of artistic Emy clay flowers says, “Emy needs long-term fellow-workers and those who would like to stay at the business for a long time.”
Nguyen Thi Quynh Nga, Chairperson of Khanh Hoa Women’s Union confirmed that the Women Start-Up Day 2019 showcased many good examples of economic development and start-up among members and women at grassroots level. The Union praised effective models and cooperatives. In the time to come, in order to continue promoting start-up creativity, women need to unite to build more strength to facilitate their business.
The Women's Union at all levels is required to promote start-up propaganda among women, support the realization of ideas of economic efficiency; enhance the movement to inspire effort to overcome challenges to success, self-confidence in start-up among its members. The Union will also try to serve as a hub for businesses and investors to find start-up support resources. In addition, every woman herself needs to constantly learn, work hard and try her best to overcome challenges to turn ideas into reality. Particularly, successful female businesses need to assist women in starting a business in terms of skills, knowledge, and development orientation to help them gain success, thereby confirming women’s roles and positions in families and the society.
