Le Tan Ban, Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Agriculture & Rural Development, Deputy Chief of Khanh Hoa Steering Board for Flood Control, Natural Disaster Relief & Rescue led a mission to check storm preparedness tasks in Van Ninh and Ninh Hoa, Khanh Hoa Province on November 9. Specifically, the mission worked with local authorities in Van Thanh Island Commune, at Hoa Son Water Reservoir, Van Ninh District; Ninh Hai Ward, Ninh Hoa Town.
 
In Van Thanh, by November 9, 34,363 aquaculture cages and 918 rafts were removed to safe places. Nearly 2,000 vessels are being safely anchored. According to Van Ninh District People’s Committee, the removal of more than 40 aquafarms owned by 1,277 families has neared completion.

Hoa Son Water Reservoir has stored 15 million m3, 78% of its capacity so far. The water storage and release have been proactively monitored to assure safety as well as meet water needs for daily use and agricultural production. More than 300 vessels owned by fishermen mainly in Ninh Hoa Town and Van Ninh District have been at the shelter port with a capacity of 400 vessels in Ninh Hoa. All the vessels in Ninh Hoa have been urged not to head out to the sea from 12:00 on November 10. 5 fishing vessels with 40 crew working on Spratly and Paracel Islands have arrived at shelter safely before the arrival of Nakri Storm.
