Since 2014, the student financial aid program run by Viettel Group has contributed to empowering hundreds of poor students to access learning opportunities and pursue their dreams for a better life. 
 
Motivating learning
 
Viettel Khanh Hoa offered 200 scholarships worth VND1 million each to 200 poor students of primary and junior high schools in the districts of Khanh Vinh, Cam Lam, Khanh Son and Van Ninh on November 26, 27 and 28, bringing great happiness to recipients.
 
Cao Thi My Trinh, an 8th-grader of Nguyen Binh Khiem Junior High School, Khanh Trung Commune, Khanh Vinh District says, “I will use the grant to buy a new bike to go to school. That is a big dream I have cherished for so long because I have to walk for more than 3km to school." Her family earns a precarious living from working for hire. The girl is the youngest of her 10 siblings. Her elder brothers and sisters had to miss out on school and help her parents with the farming work. Cao Thi My Trinh nearly dropped out of school. She has received much encouragement and support from her teachers, local officials and benefactors.
 
Mang Thi Bich Uyen, a 3rd grader at Son Tan Primay School, Son Tan Commune, Cam Lam District was happy to receive a scholarship from Viettel Group. Her family lives on her parents’ working for hire with low income. Her family is so poor that her two elder brothers had to be out of school early. She is the only child luckily still remaining in school. “I will ask my parents to buy a study desk for me at home. I will try my best to learn to become a good student and child to reciprocate my teachers, benefactors and parents for their kindness and support,” she says.

Learning campaigns promoted
 
The student assistance program has been held by Viettel Corporation for 6 years. With the slogan “Your good deed can bring millions of small dreams to life”, the program has pledged to last for 10 years with VND26 billion for scholarships annually. For over 6 years, more than 125,000 scholarships totaling over VND125 billion have been awarded to poor students nationwide. In Khanh Hoa alone, more than VND990 million has been offered to the needy. Viettel Khanh Hoa has cooperated with Khanh Hoa Department of Education & Training, Khanh Hoa Student Promotion Association and local authorities to make a list of recipients. The financial aid is not much but believed to make a difference with helping students to afford school items and other necessitates to continue with their academic pursuits, according to Nguyen Thanh, Director of ViettelPay Viettel Khanh Hoa.
 
The charity program has helped bring dreams of many poor students to come into life and contributed to community development. The program is helpful and beneficial to poor children with chances of assess to schooling as well as promoting learning in the locality, according to the leader of Khanh Hoa Study Promotion Association.
 
Moreover, Viettel Khanh Hoa has implemented the application of information technology in education, especially through an Internet broadband training program in all schools and educational institutions throughout the province. Besides, many social and community activities frequently organized by Viettel Khanh Hoa include heart surgery and smile operation funding; a cow breeding program for poor residents in border areas; saving book donation and gift offer for the disadvantaged. All the activities have shown the corporate social responsibility of Viettel Khanh Hoa.
