Her business has 1 artisan and 2 regular workers together with students working seasonally. Emy clay flowers vary in 2 types. The first product line made of Japanese or Russian clay requires high exquisiteness and dexterity and produced based on orders. The second product line made of Thai clay is for retail sale. Clay flowers can be used for wedding and home decorations.

Clay is white, soft and easy to be mixed with colors to turn into a cheerful array of graceful blooms such as daisy, rose, lotus, orchid, tuberose and bonsai that look impressively real. That is the reason why customers like these kinds of flowers.

Emy artificial flowers are selling well in Nha Trang, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, especially during Tet Festival. Nguyen Hoang Ngan, a customer says, “I like clay flowers because of their natural beauty. With a bit higher price compared with other artificial ones, clay flowers are still worth it due to their breathtaking appeal.”

Spreading floral charm further

Emy flowers are so attractive for their natural colors and amazingly like real bouquets if untouched. They look fresh and vibrant with realistic looking veins on petals. The Emy flower was selected as one of 7 excellent start-up products at the Women Start-up Day 2019.

Emy flowers are turning into towards new products, wedding bouquets, jewelry and paintings, aiming to create more job opportunities for local women and develop a clay flower handcraft village to meet tourists’ demand and promote exports to other countries via Amazon and Esty. However, her business is meeting difficulties for lack of workers and funding for the handicraft training. “The industry of making clay flowers for tourism is growing well in many nations, especially Thailand, why not in Vietnam? I will try to study more to create unique products for Nha Trang City to promote the products efficiently, thus helping provide work opportunities for many local women and those with disability as well.
