The crocodile is claimed to be the largest living crocodilian. They grow to a length of up to 7m, native to saltwater habitats and brackish wetlands. They inhabit coastal brackish mangrove swamps, mainly in brackish wetlands in Vung Tau, Can Tho, Kien Giang, Phu Quoc and Con Dao. The hunting and trade of Crocodylus porosus are banned.

Reportedly, over the past 100 years of construction and development, the Institute of Oceanography has preserved nearly 20,000 samples of more than 5,000 species in the East Sea and in neighboring areas. Annually, the institute receives more than 400,000 visitors.
