International visitors and overseas Vietnamese gathered for the 2020 New Year celebration held by Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Fatherland Front Committee on January 6.
Present at the event were Nguyen Khac Dinh, Central Party Committee Member, Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee Secretary; Nguyen Tan Tuan, Permanent Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council; Le Xuan Than, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Khanh Hoa Province, Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council; Nguyen Dac Tai, Permanent Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee; Tran Ngoc Thanh, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial Fatherland Front Committee together with leaders of local agencies and departments and some 180 foreign visitors and overseas Vietnamese.

Speaking at the meeting, provincial leaders informed the guests about the provincial socio-economics. Accordingly, in 2019, in spite of great challenges and difficulties, the provincial socio-economics continued making advances with GRDP growth up by 6.99% compared with the same period of 2018 thanks to the efforts and support of international organizations and individuals and overseas Vietnamese. Much concern continued to be given in the sectors of culture, education, health, social security and sustainable poverty reduction. Local people’s material and spiritual life improved; Security and social order were assured; International friendship and cooperation relations continued expanding.
Especially, the province successfully hosted the Visit Vietnam Year 2019, Sea Festival Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa, Miss Universe Vietnam, etc, confirming Khanh Hoa as one of ideal venues for national and regional events.
Provincial leader highly appreciated valuable contribution and support of foreign investors and businesses; practical aid from international organizations, non-governmental organizations together with the solidarity of overseas Vietnamese. Provincial leaders expressed the hope for continued assistance and support in the coming time.
On this occasion, 6 organizations and 4 individuals were granted certificates of merit by Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee.
