The Youth Month 2020 has kicked off with several many practical and meaningful activities in response to the Green Sunday in Khanh Hoa.
Since early March, the atmosphere in Ninh Van Commune, Ninh Hoa Town has become exciting with the good news that many youth projects are going to be developed in the commune to help improve local life. Bui Hoai Nam, Secretary of Khanh Hoa Youth Union says, Khanh Hoa Youth Union, Vietnam Youth Federation will develop many youth works, including lighting up roads with 70 sets of solar-powered lights for 4km to assure 100% of commune roads lighted, planting flowers on roads for 1km, building a children’s amusement area; painting a fresco to add more attraction to the local setting.

The constructions cost nearly VND1 billion thanks to the contribution of businesses and benefactors. Besides, Khanh Hoa Youth Union has mobilized Young Businessmen’s Association to donate 100 gifts worth VND700,000 each, including necessaries, face masks and soaps to the disadvantaged in Ninh Van Commune. A resident named Nguyen Xuan Thong says, “We are delighted that many roads will be with more lights together with some many other practical public works.”
Reportedly, the Youth Month has begun with the Green Sunday launched by Khanh Hoa Youth Union. 100% of Youth Union affiliations have kicked off their youth works. In Nha Trang City, more than 1,000 Youth Union members joined clean-up at the embankment in Vinh Tho Ward and at the foot of Xom Bong bridge; joined effort to assure traffic safety at roundabouts, remove illegal advertisements in public places. In Khanh Son District, the district Youth Union has helped cut overgrown bushes blocking traffic on the Provincial Road 9; planted 80 Bauhinia Variegata flowers in Hon Dung Village, Son Hiep Commune; tidied up Son Hiep Nursery and Primary School; offered gifts to social welfare beneficiaries and the disadvantaged. Khanh Vinh youth offered 300 face masks to locals; distributed 300 epidemic prevention and control leaflets; cultivated 200 plants and publicized traffic safety rules, etc.
Apart from practical activities, youth works have been inaugurated in many places. They include a community exercise zone by Cam Ranh City Youth Union worth VND50 million; lighting up rural roads with green energy worth VND50 million by Cam Lam District Youth Union in Cam Hai Dong Commune; a water filter system at Van Thang Primary School, house construction totaling over VND100 million by Van Ninh District Youth Union for social welfare beneficiaries; house construction worth VND80 million by Ninh Hoa Town Youth Union for 2 poor students and so on.
Bui Hoai Nam, Secretary of Khanh Hoa Youth Union says the Youth Union at all levels has boosted Covid-19 prevention and control propaganda by distributing leaflets and face masks free to locals. This year’s Youth Month has started with various practical youth projects. In the coming time, the provincial Youth Union will continue monitoring the implementation of the youth works to assure effectiveness and appropriateness, meeting schedule goals to help soon improve local residents’ life.
