Khanh Hoa People’s Committee has just announced Permanent Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Dac Tai’s conclusion made at the meeting with local departments and agencies in Khanh Hoa on March 30 on the implementation of drastic measures against COVID-19.
 
Urgent infrastructure investment
 
Accordingly, to curb COVID-19 outbreak, Khanh Hoa People’s Committee has assigned the Department of Health to inspect and double check infrastructures and equipment to adjust to current situations; invest in equipment for the pandemic control and prevention; urgently work with the Department of Finance and relevant agencies to equip Khanh Hoa Hospital of Tropical Diseases with negative pressure airborne isolation rooms together with some medical equipment, including ventilators, personal protective equipment, medications and rapid coronavirus test kits in accordance with current regulations.

Khanh Hoa People’s Committee has temporarily provided food delivery service worth VND57,000/ person/ day for those under medical quarantine in Khanh Hoa and assigned Khanh Hoa Department of Health to give guidelines on the implementation of the regulations.
 
Besides, Khanh Hoa People’s Committee has requested Khanh Hoa Department of Health to cooperate with Khanh Hoa Military Headquarters to urgently check the use of National Defense & Security Training Center under Nha Trang University in Suoi Tan Commune, Cam Lam District as an isolation area.
 
The dormitory of Khanh Hoa University on Tran Hung Dao Street, Loc Tho Ward, Nha Trang City may be used as an isolation area for those tested negative for Covid-19 to help ease the burden on the isolation area at the National Defense & Security Training Center. Medical declaration and health care have been assured to prevent medical staff and military forces from getting exposed to the virus while at work.
 
In the coming time, Khanh Hoa People’s Committee has required Khanh Hoa Department of Transportation to preside over and cooperate with local departments, agencies, localities and related unites to build schemes to set up disease control checkpoints on roads in Khanh Hoa, specifying number of checkpoints, locations, staff required, etc.
 
Boosting propaganda
 
The conclusion has stated the necessity to raise public awareness of the disease control and prevention. Locals are advised to stay indoors, wear face masks in public places. Local authorities have been asked to frequently warn organizations and individuals of taking precautions against COVID-19. If necessary, coercive measures will be taken to stop the spread of the virus. 
 
In addition, emergency response teams, comprising community chiefs, police officers, Youth Union members and young people are required to be set up to comb communities to get a full list of individuals, especially those from the virus-hit cities and provinces, and cooperate with the medical sector for close health monitoring, medical isolation and testing when necessary.
 
The provincial People's Committee has allowed the People's Committees of districts and towns to, based on actual situations, proactively consider and promulgate documents suspending the operation of local business and service establishments, except for the trade in essential goods and services in general supermarkets, shopping centers, markets, convenience stores, mini supermarkets, groceries, clinics, banks, fueling stations, etc.
 
Moreover, the Provincial People's Committee has also instructed concerned departments and agencies to urgently deploy online teaching, isolate foreigners, and meet financial demand for the pandemic combat; especially, promptly commend organizations and individuals for their active participation in the fight against the epidemic.
