On April 1, the first day after the Instructions No. 16 on urgent measures, including nationwide social distancing in COVID-19 battle, markets in Nha Trang City is still in operation as usual.
 
The number of shoppers and sellers decreased this morning compared with normal days. The market management board has also taken drastic measures to curb community transmission of the coronavirus.

Nguyen Thi Cuc, Head of the Xom Moi Market Management Board says on the morning of April 1 there were fewer shoppers to the market compared with normal days. There is still an abundance of goods with stable prices. All sellers are required to wear face masks. All violators will be forced to stop the trade and get punishment.
 
 
There was a slight increase in sellers at the market this morning. The market management staff is on standby to warn shoppers of wearing facemasks before entering the market. 
 
At Phuoc Thai Market, some booths of non-essential goods are temporarily closed. According to Nguyen Van An, Deputy head of the Phuoc Thai Market Management Board, 30% of clothing and foot wear booths are temporarily shut down. There is a sufficient supply of essential foods at stable prices.
 
Local residents flocked to the market to buy food for stockpiling on the afternoon of March 31, resulting in a slight price increase by under 5%.
 
However, this morning, the price of basic essentials returned to normal. 95% of sellers were with face masks on. The market management board has asked sellers and shoppers to take pandemic precautions.
 
At Vinh Hai Market, this morning, there were fewer sellers and shoppersthis morning compared with normal days. Most wore face masks. The price of beef, chicken and seafood remained stable. The price of vegetables was on a slight increase, up by VND1,000 – 3,000/ bunch. Pork decreased by VND2,000 – 3,000/kg. According to sellers, the buying power this morning dropped partly because of shopping restrictions as well as some customers’ already stockpiling or hoarding days before for the outbreak.
