Storm Etau was at 12.3 °N and 110.3 °E on the coast of Binh Dinh – Ninh Thuan with wind speeds at level 9 (75-90km/h) and the gust expected at level 12 at 4a.m on November 10, according to the Southern & Central Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.

 

In the next 12 hours, the storm is forecast to head west at 10-15kph and make landfall in the provinces of Binh Dinh and Ninh Thuan and then weaken into a tropical depression. In the next 12 - 24 hours, the tropical depression will move west at 10-15kph and then weaken into a depression area. At 4am on November 11, the depression will be at 12.3 °N and 106.2°E in eastern Cambodia with the gust down-graded at level 6 (under 40kph).


The remnants of the storm is expected to bring downpours with 100-200mm of rainfall in northern and central Khanh Hoa (Van Ninh, Ninh Hoa, Dien Khanh and Nha Trang) and 70-150mm in the southern (Cam Lam and Cam Ranh); and 60-100mm in mountainous areas in the next 2 days. The natural disaster risk is at level 1.
