Khanh Hoa Provincial Trade Union has made great attempts over years to fulfill tasks set in the Resolution of the 10th Congress, term 2018 – 2023. A variety of activities to improve workers’ working conditions and living standards have been organized.
Practical work
Since 2020, Covid-19 outbreak has had great adverse impacts on Trade Union members and workers. 2,200 disadvantaged unionists and workers are facing great difficulties due to the pandemic. The provincial Trade Union has provided support VND1.1 billion for the needy and mobilized many individuals and businesses to donate 33 tons of rice to more than 10,000 workers at Suoi Dau Industrial Zone. During the Lunar New Year 2021, the Provincial Trade Union donated 5,000 gifts worth VND2 billion and grassroots Trade Unions 321,000 gifts totaling VND44 billion to disadvantaged members.
Besides, the Trade Union at all levels has also cooperated ensure close supervision over the payment of the Government’s VND62,000 billion support package. The supervision of the implementation of beneficiary policies for workers has been enhanced. The implementation of grassroots democracy regulations has been effectively ensured.

Nguyen Dinh Hien, Deputy Director of Thong Thuan Cam Ranh Fishery Joint Stock Company says, “thanks to the Trade Union, every year, the company successfully holds employee conferences and periodical talks, taking workers’ ideas and aspirations into consideration to ensure the protection of workers’ legal rights and benefits as well as reach business development strategies.
Furthermore, the Trade Union at all levels has cooperated to resolve 3 labor strikes by 2,000 workers. The employee welfare has been effectively ensured. The Trade Union at all levels has signed with 23 organizations and businesses to give discount on products and services to members, benefiting 30,000 unionists with a total sum of VND3 billion.
Since 2018, the Trade Union has mobilized more than VND3.9 billion to build houses for 87 members. Annually, the Trade Union awards over 60 scholarships to workers’ children and provides loans worth VND1.1 billon from the job creation funding for economic growth.
Focus on fulfilling tasks
According to the report by the Provincial Labor Confederation, the Trade Union has met some challenges affecting the fulfillment of targets set by the 10th Congress. According to Bui Thanh Binh, Chairman of the Provincial Labor Confederation, from now to the end of the term, the provincial Trade Union will focus on securing workers’ rights and benefits; innovating law propaganda; developing Trade Union membership and affiliations in accordance with the new situation; strengthening and improving the operation of Trade Union affiliations; cooperating with relevant agencies in the inspection and supervision of the implementation of policies for Trade Union members and workers; regularly launching emulation campaigns among workers for the sake of the enterprise development, job creation and income improvement for Trade Union members.
The Trade Union at all levels will take its members and workers’ ideas and aspirations into consideration; make good preparation for building a workers’ housing zone at Suoi Dau Industrial Zone; regularly provide professional development and training for grassroots Trade Union cadres; sign welfare programs; and provide housing support for unionists.
The Trade Union at all levels has admitted 17,700 members and founded 135 affiliations. Every year, over 99% of upper-level Trade Unions fulfill their tasks well and 58% grassroots ones qualify standards for a strong organization. The Trade Union at all levels has completed cultural and sporting institutions at Suoi Dau Industrial Zone; inducted more than 5,400 excellent members to the Communist Party; the Trade Union financial collection has reached 92% of the target.
