Khanh Hoa Newspaper celebrated its 74th anniversary on April 26. Present at the event were Nguyen Tan Tuan, Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Ha Quoc Tri, Vice-Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee; Dinh Van Thieu, Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee; together with leaders of local departments and agencies; and businesses and freelancers.
Speaking at the ceremony, Nguyen Tan Tuan highly appreciated the contribution of Khanh Hoa Newspaper, worth the trust of the Provincial Party, Government and people. Besides fulfilling its role as an official news agency of the province, orientating public opinions, Khanh Hoa Newspaper has contributed to social work via practical activities to help the disadvantaged.

He also expressed the hope that Khanh Hoa Newspaper would continue effort in fulfilling the role of a news agency as the voice of the Party Committee, Government and people in Khanh Hoa Province; publicizing provincial policies and orientating public opinions, contributing to social security and order; focusing on provincial investment and planning projects; promoting charity work to call for businesses, organizations and individuals’ donation to the purchase of Covid-19 vaccines.
At the event, all delegates briefly reviewed the 74 years of Khanh Hoa Newspaper, initially named Thang Newspaper with the first publication on April 26, 1947, then renamed may times, Information (1951 - 1954), Gio Moi (1954 - 1956), Khanh Hoa Giai Phong (1965 - 1975) and then Khanh Hoa Newspaper (from July 1, 19898 until now). In 2020, Khanh Hoa Newspaper had nearly 302 issues with a circulation of about 1,720,000 copies; and 7,400 copies of New Year magazine and a special issue marking the 90th anniversary of Vietnam Communist Party’s foundation.
Apart from its main professional tasks, Khanh Hoa Newspaper also joined many charity activities such as offering New Year gifts to 200 poor families in Suoi Cat Commune, Cam Lam District; in partner with Vietcombank Nha Trang offered 60 gifts to policy beneficiaries in the commune, in partner with Muong Thanh Luxury Nha Trang donated 100 gifts to the needy, called for funding to build a playground roof and offer gifts to Vanh Khuyen Nursery School in Suoi Lau school location; jointly with VK Group and 22-12 Hospital donated 15 computer sets to A.Yersin Junior High School; and awarded 15 Long Sinh scholarships to Jeju Primary School.
Through its charity box, Khanh Hoa Newspaper offered more than VND277 million to help 7 people suffering from serve diseases and financial hardship. During Covid-19 outbreak, Khanh Hoa Newspaper has mobilized and in partnership with many business and agencies to donate rice, Covid-19 kit tests, hand sanitizer, automatic dispensers, health care vouchers, books, etc. Furthermore, Khanh Hoa Newspaper called for donations and received over VND860 million and 5,000 notebooks from its readers to help the flood-hit people in the provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue and Phu Yen. In 2020, Khanh Hoa received the certificate of merit by the provincial People’s Committee.
At the ceremony, VCN Company also gave a symbolic cheque to fund the house construction for a poor family of Nguyen Thi Hiep in Suoi Cat Commune. Khanh Hoa Newspaper also granted commemorative medals to 27 businesses and individuals who joined several social activities with Khanh Hoa Newspaper in 2020; and awarded 10 excellent freelancers.
