The second Covid-19 vaccine dose is expected to be given next week to approximately 6,800 people in Khanh Hoa Province.
 
6,800 people in Khanh Hoa Province to be vaccinated
 
Huynh Van Dong, Director of Khanh Hoa Center for Disease Control says the center has received 6,800 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines provided by the Ministry of Heath. Under the Prime Minister’s Resolution 21, priority groups for the second dose are medical staff working in public and private health care facilities in Khanh Hoa and pandemic control and prevention forces.
 
As planned, the second vaccination will be offered to personnel in hospitals and pandemic prevention and control agencies. “Based on the actual number of people, the vaccination is expected to finish in April or May. The vaccination will be implemented as in the open vaccination program, according to Huynh Van Dong.
 
There will be 38 vaccination sites in the province this time. Most of them will be at hospitals and general clinics. Khanh Hoa Center for Disease Control will serve staff working at medical facilities without vaccination sites.

Ready for Covid-19 vaccination
 
To assure the quality and safety of the vaccination, Khanh Hoa Center for Disease Control has cooperated with localities to make a list of beneficiaries of the second vaccine dose; and provide vaccination training for all medical staff involved in districts and cities.
 
Huynh Trong Tan, a clerk of the provincial open vaccination program, the main trainer says, “We provide information and knowledge about all features and use of AstraZeneca vaccines; give guidance for medical declaration and screening tests before getting vaccinated; monitoring after vaccination; prevention, diagnosis and treatment of anaphylaxis response; use e-health records and make vaccination report; build vaccination plans, etc."
 
400 people at Dien Khanh District Medical Center are expected to be vaccinated this time. Phan Tan Duc, Director of the center says, “under the guidance of the Department of Health and Center for Disease Control, the center has completed the plans for vaccination location guided by the Ministry of Heath. To protect the health of themselves and their patients, all medical staff have been urged to get vaccinated against Covid-19. The second dose vaccination will be at Dien Khanh District General Hospital next week.”
 
Along with above activities, the Center for Disease Control has made a specific plan on receiving, preserving and distributing vaccines to localities. Accordingly, district and town medical centers will receive vaccines at the Provincial Center for Disease Control within 1-3 days. Vaccination sites will receive vaccines at medical centers on the morning of vaccination days. The province has set up 36 ambulance teams available to promptly respond to any emergencies.
