Many  key strategic routes have been constructed o ver years  to link Khanh Hoa Province with neighboring provinces, contributing to the promotion of potentials and strengths for socio-economic development.
 
Traffic infrastructure development cooperation
 
According to Nguyen Van Dan, Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Transport, traffic conditions always play an important role in paving the way for socio-economic growth. Therefore, over years, Khanh Hoa Province has linked and cooperated with many neighboring provinces, namely Lam Dong, Binh Thuan, Ninh Thuan, Dak Lak and Phu Yen; cooperated to develop the coastal central area, including the 9 provinces of Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan. The Departments of Transport of the provinces have joined effort to cooperate and provide mutual support to build a master traffic infrastructure development planning connecting provinces in the region and adjacent ones, ensuring the promotion of potentials and strengths of the provinces, contributing to socio-economic growth, national defense and security. 
 
In addition, the Department of Transport has enhanced cooperation and experience exchange in traffic infrastructure organization, investment management, management of means of transport and drivers to ensure road, waterway and rail safety. The Departments of Transport of Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan have just provided consultancy and proposed the People’s Committees of the 2 provinces would approve the supplement of the road connected the Provincial Road 9 to National Road 27B to link Khanh Son District and Bac Ai District, Ninh Thuan Province in the provincial planning in the 2 provinces; prepare for the opening up the passenger bus route Phan Rang City-Thap Cham, Ninh Thuan to Cam Ranh International Airport.

The Departments of Transport of Khanh Hoa and Dak Lak have provided consultancy for the People’s Committees of the 2 provinces to supplement the motorway Buon Ma Thuot – Nha Trang in the Vietnam motorway network development planning, term 2021-2030, vision till 2050 submitted to the Ministry of Transport for consideration and to the Prime Minister for approval. The 3 provinces of Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan are focusing on site clearance for the motorway project Nha Trang – Cam Lam and Cam Lam – Vinh Hao.
 
Cooperation and connection boosted
 
In the medium-term 2021-2025 plan, the Ministry of Transport will implement 2 motorway projects connecting Phu Yen and Khanh Hoa. The projects include Tuy Hoa – Van Phong (51km) and Van Phong – Nha Trang (81 km) designed with 8 lanes. The Van Phong – Nha Trang motorway has been suggested with a total investment capital of nearly VND13,000 billion. Besides, the Khanh Hoa – Dak Lak motorway project with a total investment capital of approximately VND19,500 billion has a total length of 113km with 4-6 lanes (4 lanes in the 1st phase) with a designed speed of 80-120km/hour.
 
As the cooperation in traffic infrastructure development is important, in the coming time, the Departments of Transport of the provinces will continue cooperating to provide consultancy for the Provincial People’s Committees on the traffic infrastructure development planning connecting areas in the province and with neighboring provinces, namely Ninh Thuan, Phu Yen, Lam Dong and Dak Lak; and building policies specialized for the region and transportation management among provinces, contributing to the socio-economic development.
 
The Khanh Hoa Department of Transport has proposed to the Provincial People's Committee to forward the suggestion on developing transport infrastructure projects connecting the region: motorway Nha Trang - Van Phong - Phu Yen; approve the policy to implement Buon Ma Thuot - Nha Trang motorway project (connecting with the South Van Phong area) to the Central Government; upgrading and widening the National Road 26 and 26B to facilitate regional link and develop the North-South and East-West economic corridors between the Southern Central region and the Central Highlands, said Nguyen Van Dan.
 
Moreover, the localities will cooperate with Highland provinces to enhance the cooperation and cargo movement through the ports, namely Cam Ranh Port, Northern Van Phong General Port and Southern Van Phong General Port; build policies to facilitate enterprises and ports in supply and demand connection to enable faster and more efficient movement of freight via ports; cooperate to develop chains of logistics in goods transportation and distribution in the region with countries in the Mekong sub-region through the regional traffic corridor; develop public passenger transportation routes such as Nha Trang – Buon Ma Thuot, Nha Trang - Phan Rang and Nha Trang – Phu Yen with inter-provincial buses.
