The volunteer summer campaign 2021 is scheduled to take place from June 1 to August 31 in Khanh Hoa Province.
According to Bui Hoai Nam, Secretary of Khanh Hoa Youth Union, the volunteer summer campaign 2021 will be organized in all localities in Khanh Hoa Province, focusing in remote areas, disadvantaged coastal communes, ethnic minority communities and communes registering for fulfilling new rural area targets 2021.
The campaign will include various voluntary activities joined by volunteers from schools and several agencies. The “Exam season support” is underway until July 15 with the peak period on July 6-8. Teams of volunteering students will be founded to guide candidates and their families about the capacity assessment exam and the national high school graduation exam 2021.
The Green Summer Volunteer Campaign is scheduled to take place from June 1 to August 31 with the participation of students, young lecturers from colleges, universities and vocational high schools; local people and international volunteers who are interested in voluntary activities in Khanh Hoa. The volunteers will get involved in new rural construction, urban civilization, environmental protection, climate change response, social welfare promotion and child care activities.
The volunteer programs, namely “Red flamboyant”, “Pink vacation" and "Green military operations” will also be launched with the purpose to promote the youth's enthusiasm in social security maintenance, contributing to local socio-economic development.
Basic targets of the campaign include repairing 15km and building 5 - 10km of rural roads; 10 urban roads meeting the standards lighted, green, beautiful, civilized and safe; nutritional consultancy and medical check-up, dental or oral care; food safety; screening for chronic conditions among 1,000 people, cultivating 5,000 trees; constructing 5 houses for the disadvantaged, repairing 10 schools and 10 houses of policy beneficiaries in need, building 10 recreational areas for children and teenagers; providing vocational training for 10,000 youth arrivals; supporting 5 youth’s start-up projects, recruiting 8,000 more members; recommending 1,000 outstanding Youth Union members to the Communist Party membership and recruiting 200 Communist Party members.
The campaign is required to be widely, effectively, safely and sustainably organized, associated with political duties and actual demand of communities and local agencies. The youth work is to mark the success of the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils for the 2021-2026 term. The voluntary activities must be thoroughly prepared in both content and form, adapting to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
The Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee has assigned the Provincial Youth Union Board for School Children, Teenagers & Young Adults to provide consultancy for the organization of “Exam season support”, “Green summer”, “Red flamboyant”; and the Provincial Youth Union Campaign Board to provide consultancy for the implementation of “Pink vacation" and "Green military operations”. The Youth Union of districts and towns and Provincial Youth Union affiliations are to make suitable plans to launch the campaign.
The voluntary programs and activities are expected to contribute to the promotion of the youth’s enthusiasm and volunteering in the local socio-economic development, solution to social issues, new rural construction; social security and national defense maintenance, especially in disadvantaged remote communities and coastal areas.
The campaign promises to continue paving the way for Youth Union members and young people to fully grow and contribute to the development of young generation in terms of meaningful life, bravery and intelligence for the cause of homeland protection and construction.
