Since the first Covid-19 case of local transmission was detected on July 3, Ninh Hoa Town in Khanh Hoa has boosted Covid-19 prevention and control with aggressive and prompt measures under the local People’s Committee’ s instructions to stamp out the epidemic effectively.
Solidarity in response to the Covid-19 pandemic
To ensure safety and dual goal of pandemic control and socio-economic development, for nearly 1.5 months, the whole economic system has been deployed with high determination. Ninh Hoa businesses and residents have shown their high responsibility and willingness to accept inconvenience to protect life and help others during the hard time due to the pandemic.

After nearly 1.5 months, the pandemic is basically under control in Ninh Hoa Town thanks to drastic and compressive measures and especially, the donation and sacrifice of front-line health workers, police and military staff. Hundreds of check-points have been set up in 27 communes and wards in the town. 1,581 infections have been identified in Ninh Hoa Town since June 23 and 932 of these cases have been recovered. 2,992 F1 and 9,102 F2 have been traced; 452,684 samples have been taken for RT-PCR and antigen-detecting rapid diagnostic testing till August 13.
Makeshift hospitals have been founded at Ninh Diem General Hospital and 2 treatment facilities. Besides, the Department of Infection Control at Ninh Hoa General Hospital has also given treatment to Covid-19 patients.
In addition, hundreds of community-based Covid response teams and hotlines of the town, communes and wards have been set up during the social distancing time under the Directive 16. 480 frontline staff have been fully vaccinated and 3,117 State public servants have been given the first shot. The first-dose vaccination is underway for teachers.
Joining attempt to keep Covid-19 free areas
Together with rapid infection identification and tracing to curb the coronavirus spread, on the morning of August 13, the town launched the campaign "All people get engaged in keeping the community safe from Covid-19". The town has classified 13 villages and quarters in 8 communes, wards and 4 communes as “green zones”, which are Covid-free, to maintain their safety; then gradually expanded "green zones", narrowed "orange zones" towards the elimination of high-risk "red zones" in an attempt to soon bring life back to the new normal.
Promoting achievements already gained, at the ceremony to launch the campaign "All people get engaged in keeping the community safe from Covid-19", Nguyen Vinh Thanh, Chairman of the Town People’s Committee called all residents, officials, soldiers, military forces, social organizations and businesses inside and outside the town to raise responsibility and comply with Covid-19 prevention and control regulations, directives and instructions of the Government, the province and the town; promote solidarity and respond to the campaign; continue joining contribution, materially and spiritually, in an attempt to get a grip on the outbreak.
At the working session with Ninh Hoa Town People’s Committee on Covid-19 prevention and control on August 13, Nguyen Tan Tuan, Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee awarded certificates of merit to Ninh Hoa Town officials and residents for their excellent achievements in Covid-19 prevention and control; and to 19 villages and quarters for their excellent achievements in the campaign "All people get engaged in keeping the community safe from Covid-19".
