Nguyen Tan Tuan, Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee had a working session with members of Khanh Hoa Provincial Covid-19 Relief Center on August 30. Also present at the event was Tran Ngoc Thanh, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Head of Provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization.
 
Prompt assistance
 
After 1 month of operation, Khanh Hoa Provincial Covid-19 Relief Center has mobilized 180 agencies, businesses; religious and military organizations and residents inside and outside Khanh Hoa Province to donate funds, necessities, medical equipment for Covid-19 response. They included more than VND12.29 billion and many other necessities containing 405.15 tons of rice, nearly 138 tons of vegetables and fruits; 453,500 eggs; 2,471 boxes of necessities of all kinds; 1,000kg of pork and chicken; 500kg of shrimp; 2,040 boxes of whey; 50,000 milk cartons; 2 ambulances, 5,000 face masks; 1,100 gifts; 2,000 medical protective suits, 26 ventilators, 2,000 SARS-CoV-2 antigen rapid testing devices, etc.

The center has allocated the cash and items to the provincial Youth Union, Women’s Union, districts and towns to support residents in need. Besides, the center has visited and offered gifts to front-line forces, Covid-19 check-point officials, self-managed teams in “green areas”, poor households, policy beneficiaries, Village elders, Agent Orange victims, disabled people, poor tenants, self-employed people, students, social support establishments, charity houses, foreigners meeting difficulties in Khanh Hoa, kitchens in centralized quarantine areas, etc.
 
Khanh Hoa Covid-19 Relief Center has just given gifts containing rice, noodles, eggs, vegetables and fruits to poor tenants, most of whom are motorcycle taxi drivers, tailors and tailoresses, barbers, hairdressers, etc. in a Vinh Phuong Commune, Nha Trang City. They have been out of work for nearly 2 months, making life hard for them since the resurgence of  Covid-19. 
 
Nguyen Thi Hien, a tailoress said, “I am so delighted to receive rice and other necessities from the center. It helps ease the pressure of life during the social distancing.” Village elder Mang Cam in Thinh Son Village, Cam Thinh Tay Commune, Cam Ranh City added, “The gifts of necessities help feed many families. We are so happy to get the assistance.”

No-one in need is left behind
 
After 1 month of the establishment of the Provincial Covid-19 Relief Center; district and commune relief boards and teams, the assistance has contributed to ensuring no-one in need is left behind. Besides seeking, receiving and distributing donation, the center has staff in charge of reporting and accessing those in need of help via social networks and mass media. The center has cooperated with local authorities to provide support for many vulnerable people, including struggling tenant families. The demand for assistance is still high, so the center hopes to continue receiving more support and donation from organizations, businesses and individuals to help more people.
 
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tan Tuan agreed to assign the Provincial Covid-19 Relief Center to support some military officers and soldiers working in medical quarantine areas and managing drug addicts; urged the center to continue seeking donations from organizations, businesses and individuals to support the province's Covid-19 response and relief; and organize online meetings with local relief boards and teams to get reports about difficulties related to the relief work, and thus have appropriate solutions.
 
The Provincial People's Committee Chairman also requested Fatherland Front Committees, unions and organizations to report any cases in need of help to ensure no one goes hungry during the Covid-19 pandemic. 
 
On this occasion, the Provincial Covid-19 Relief Center received 10 tons of rice donated by Thanh Hoa Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Thanh Hoa Football Club and Galina Hotel, Nha Trang City; and 5 ventilators from Bien Hoa - Ninh Hoa Sugar Joint Stock Company.
